Well on a bright side of having a delayed delivery to Monday now, my Otterbox Commuter series case arrived for my iPhone XS Max...

You can leave a release form so they drop it off so you don’t have to take the day off from work. I won’t be home all day and am leaving a release form.

Great idea, but I'm not comfortable leaving it out alone all day just begging for someone who knows what day it is to abscond with it.

Just to note this is a widespread issue it’s not just us here on macrumors, people of all sorts are flooding @UPSHelp on twitter.

What a bad day to work at UPS

Such a shame that people working at ups are so overloaded. Hope they've been given guidance on how to reply (doubt it) but it really sucks for them...they don't deserve the flood of concern coming their way.

We have a contractual agreement with some shippers, which limits the amount of packages that can be handed over to UPS on any given day. When this amount is exceed, as in this case, the packages may experience delays. We first need to complete those packages that were given to us in previous days before we can export those that were recently shipped.

My phone is now showing unknown delivery and my wife’s is now Monday.

Both were expected tomorrow.

That sucks.

I’ve bought at least one of every new iPhone release since original iPhone and UPS/Apple has never missed the launch date. I even received the 4S a day early much to my surprise take a breath everyone. Also UPS will deliver on Saturday if necessary for iPhones.

I’m in Elmwood Village (Buffalo) and it’s weird being the only one of 3 of us WNYers in the thread showing on time. My guess is we all get our phones - the flight from Louisville to BUF isn’t until close to 4AM central time.

Both my phones got the delayed date 9/24 but just a few minutes ago I was charged for the first IUP payment. Just one though. Mean anything? Never done the IUP program/new release combo before.

So after a nice talk with UPS. She passed me this info! She told me to completely disregard the tracking on the website. They are having technical issues with Apple and Tracking. She told me my package left Kentucky at 3:10pm today and was on a plane to Denver. It will be delivered tomorrow. All this delayed shipment stuff floating around is a glitch. So hold on to hope my fellow macrumors members!

I think there could be a good chance this is an error on their end. Sucks that there's really no information. But I think most people will be satisfied tomorrow.

Edit: Seems like that information is messed up on their mobile side.

My Max is already in Austin thankfully with a delivery date of tomorrow
