Watch is on the way, looks like our Xs won't have tracking until tomorrow. For anyone concerned about your 9/21 orders not showing up yet, don't worry. Sometimes 9/21 orders don't leave until Wednesday.

So I did some research, apparently when you can't have your package held at a CC is because the shipper has placed a restriction on your package, in this case Apple. Why would Apple put a restriction on my package whyyyyyyyy :mad::mad:

I have a question. If I did the IUP for my iPhone X and paid sales tax for the full price of the phone. Do they refund me half that? Since technically I am sending it back after 12 payments? For example. If the phone was $1000. And you get charged $100 sales tax up front from that $1000 purchase. But you give them the phone after $500 worth of payments. Do you get a refund for the other part of the sales tax not used?

Interesting, I ordered mine from Apple.com and was able to place a hold for pick up at my local UPS CC and worked just fine. I'd wait couple of days.

Side note, this was my first year on apple upgrade program, in past years I just bought outright and sold the old phone. I looked back on my emails and it was the quickest checkout ever on a pre order. I love how smooth they made it us in the program. In store at 3:01 (earliest I've ever gotten in) checkout at 3:01, Confirmation at 3:02

I think it has to do with the amount I paid. I ordered the Max and paid in full. $1.6K and they wanna make sure it's actually delivered to you.. Makes no sense, it's safer for it to be held and for you to personally pick it up. ugh

I wouldn't thinks so because you are paying the sales tax for the loan... They are just buying the rest of the lien you have on it.

Think of it like a car, if you buy a car and finance, you still have to pay the tax on it for the whole car. Even if you sell it three months later.

That’s not true in all states on a lease.

A lease is different. You are paying depreciation in a lease (or more accurately the right to use something owned by someone else). In that case, the payment is taxable. In this case you are buying the phone with a loan. Since ownership transfers, sales tax is due at the time of sale.

Me too. Unbelievably smooth as compared to every single prior order day nightmare. Looks like they finally sorted out their launch day issues esp. with regard to the IUP.

I preordered an iPhone XS Max 256 gb in silver Friday at 8:30am EST and today around 1pm the shipment showed up in my UPS app! Still no option to hold it at a CC though, will keep on checking.
