Apple today discontinued its ill-received FineWoven material, introducing no new cases that use the leather replacement. The company has also removed existing FineWoven iPhone cases for older devices from its website, though FineWoven versions of the MagSafe Wallet and AirTag Key Ring continue to be available.

FineWoven has been heavily criticized for its poor performance in comparison to the former leather cases that Apple used to offer. Apple replaced leather last year in order to be more environmentally friendly, but people quickly found that the FineWoven cases are quick to get dirty and begin to fray.

There is no replacement for the FineWoven material, and Apple does not have leather cases or any kind of equivalent for purchase. For the iPhone 16 lineup, customers can choose a Silicone Case or a Clear Case.

Silicone Cases are available in several new colors like fuchsia, ultramarine, star fruit, and lake green, in sizes that fit each of the new iPhone models.

Apple's Beats brand has also introduced a series of new cases for the iPhone 16 lineup, marking the first time that we've seen iPhone accessories from Beats in some time.

But the new watch bands are still FineWoven, and they released a new FineWoven wallet lol. Probably meant to release them during the spring, but because of the negative press they held off and now they're clearing inventory.

Ah yes, environmentally friendly...Plastic........

I was hoping they would look at an alternate natural leather, like Apple Leather (extremely on brand!) or cactus. This year just fees so phoned in...

Last time I got an Apple silicone case it was garbage as the corners wore off within a few months.

Clear plastic case looks awful as it will show fingerprints / grease like crazy and it doesn’t fully cover the bottom.

WTF Apple? How hard is it to simply come out with some “vegan leather” type of case for a trillion $ company?

Time to start looking on Amazon…

I suppose that’s what happens when you pull the plug at the last minute without a backup plan.

If I were buying a 16 Series phone, which I don't plan to, I would have to purchase an iPhone case from a 3rd Party Source, as I would still purchase leather, as I like both its feel and durability. Apple silicone cases are great when new, but mine have always started to fall apart within a year. I could tell that the FineWoven cases were a joke, the minute they were introduced.

Looks like their sales projections based the Polishing Cloth didn't pan out. Not enough suckers bought the cloth were willing to buy the case.
