I came to this article because Apple TV's Movie Trailers app has been saying for several weeks that trailers are with the Apple TV app. I couldn't see them there, so I continued to watch the Movie Trailers app (which was still being updated).

Now, I see the trailers are buried inside the Store section. Thank you!

Meanwhile, does anyone know what happens when you click "Add to Favorites" for a trailer? I've been doing it for years, but never seem to get an update or notification when said movie is available (which is what I would think should happen.

I noticed that Apple has recently updated the Movie Trailer website, although it currently appears disorganized. Here's the link:

This seems to only show the most popular big-budget movies and shows. The Movie Trailers app showed all the little independent and foreign films, as well.
It will be very sad if this option is lost. 😢

Check the App Store. There are a couple devs pushing out trailer apps that are very similar to the discontinued trailers app.

Yeah, it’s a bad design. I don’t consider being able to see one or two movies per screen to be “modern”. In fact, with devices that have screens which are larger than ever, having a design that shows less content per page feels regressive and antiquated, not modern.
Nothing worse than clicking on a movie or show to see what it is about and have the synopsis take ~ 10-15% of the available screen space on a 60 inch screen. I should not have to squint or move closer to read anything because some fool thinks having 85-90% black screen around a text box is "modern".

Still not available in the UK.

Almost a week after the Trailers app was disabled, and the TV does not yet have a dedicated section for Trailers.

But, Ill just go to Youtube and search for Movie Trailers anyway.

Someone over at Reddit has made an alternative Movie Trailers app and so far things are looking very good indeed.
Unlike the Apple App you can search for pretty much anything and some include more than just trailers.
Some trailers are even 4KHDR

! That looks
Whoa that looks as good at the one  made go way retaining the same format.

Can’t wait for this new trailer app to come out. I don’t have trailers via Apple TV here in Denmark and all the other trailer apps I have tried have really low bitrate and very low picture quality.

Are the bitrates the same as the Trailer app or are they streaming in YouTube quality?

Can someone help me out here.

Am I being thick?

Although if you keep the trailers app, it links you to some invisible section of the TV app for a small number of trailers....

I cannot find where in the TV app you get to trailers... theres no option anywhere.

In the UK if that makes a difference.

You’re asking the wrong person there 🤷🏻‍♂️
Follow the Reddit link and ask the dev directly, or even join the test flight for the app and try it out.

What a surprise lol "US Only" like so many other things.

Seems a bit silly this one... I mean they discontinued the trailers app for the whole planet and yet only instigated its 'replacement' in the USA?

By all accounts the replacement is a bit rubbish so we arent missing out on much and frankly Youtube is the better place to get trailers anyway.

But its still weird that if you didnt delete the trailers app, it will still link you to the 'invisible' area in the TV - so its there but you just cant see it.

Very odd.
