Everyone I know in the UK have WhatsApp. But it’s a different story in the US. I don’t get why the above poster suggested people have moved on from iMessage. If you have an iPhone and you message other iPhone users daily, wouldn’t make sense to not use it.

What I meant was to get the advanced features that iMessage provides people are just using Whatsapp instead as it's cross platform compatible. iMessage is only useful if all your friends use an iPhone and outside of the US Its not the case. Messaging apps and protocols should not be proprietary, its just silly.

I have travelled enough and I don't even need to tell you. I was in states for 2 years too. Stop judging and read more, may be you will understand world better.
America is very Apple centric. The UK is about even android and iPhone.

However there are a lot of countries in Europe that are heavily android. There are countries like Spain where Android has over 90 % of the market share.

About 95% of my contacts use android snd even the few that use iPhones have started using what’sApp so I really don’t get much use out of iMessage.

He is sort of right. For a lot of 3rd world countries brand association
Huh? I use Adblocker VPN. Don’t see any ads in apps, games or the web. It’s available in the App Store.

Apple is cracking down on adblockers unless it's for mobile Safari. If it's VPN based or for non-Safari browsers they may no longer authorize updates to be published. For example, Adblock VPN for iOS hasn't been updated for almost a year.

Look at version history...

Another reason I don't buy Apple products. They charge too much and don't include equipment what you need for a feature the phone has? They are such money grabbers. Amazing they have such a huge cult like following and will happily shell out the cash for the $1200 phone and then shell out more for the charger that isn't included with it.
May I politely ask why are you on this forum? I am genuinely curious as to why someone would come to an Apple site and just post on the alternatives forum even when there are other dedicated forums out there.

Also to answer your post tell me what corporations aren't greedy? Amazon with their underpaid workers? Google and Facebook that make us the product?

It’s because if I send a photo or video to a non iPhone user in iMessage it has to go via MMS. I get charged 55p per message.

It was a whole album.

Ah yeah, so it was. U2's worse album for free. I had forgot that, because as soon as the album removal tool was available, I used it.
