Haven’t they already stated that they are limiting the updates in iOS12 in order to refine the os?

What ios does it does well. Problem is, it is being left behind iin terms what it can do.

What can’t it do? Not trying to stir the pot here but having been with iPhones for quite a while I’m missing the boat on what other platforms are up to now.

What can’t it do?
That is a very loaded question. I have a jailbroken iPhone with over 200 tweaks installed. That's a lot of stuff that stock iOS 'can't do'.

Dark mode, Quick Compose of messages on the lockscreen, Callbar to make calls from anywhere on the phone (including the lockscreen), placing apps where you want them, five colum springboard and dock, transparent dock, transparent folders, removing labels, shrinking icons, grayscale icons, custom status bar with custom icons, etcetera off the top of my head.

Yeah. Lots of stuff stock iOS can't do.

So you're upset because they're focusing on giving you exactly what you're asking for in this thread.

As for features; I always find it remarkably consistent how these posts never mention exactly what features are wanted.

I refuse to blame Apple for an iOS that works well for me. I have to agree with others, “some” just like to complain to gain attention.
Why would I complain about something that works good? If I had no issues or minor issues. I can guarantee you I would not be complaining.

I agree, I was trying to think of what is going wrong with it? I have no problems.

Not once has this happened. Have you wiped your phone out and started from fresh?
I’ve literally had 4 iPhone x’s all the same issues.

True Dark mode, battery percent in to ear on iPhone X. Volume bar up in the other ear or at the very least see through, it’s ignorant to be watching a video and hit the volume and it be right in the middle of the screen for 10 seconds. Theres a lot more to but that’s a few top features I want.
[doublepost=1522601321][/doublepost]For all you guys saying that iOS 11 doesn’t have problems. Apple even had a bug in there commercial.

Some don’t know what they want for new features, they just want the current problems fixed to better the experience. I think that’s partly what the OP is saying.

Apple has really lost there touch. Saw where they weren’t gonna give use any new features in iOS 12 because they want to fix bugs. That BS. I gave a $1000 for a phone to a company that can’t even make a stable software. They have been doing iOS for 10 years now you would think they would be able make a software that’s doesn’t have so many damn bugs. And still be able to give use features. Kinda wish I would’ve bought an lg to be honest.

The biggest issue is Apple isn’t using the beta feedback as it should, I am not sure why the process isn’t as strict as it should be but they just need to action feedback.

Yet the OP is complaining that time is being taken to fix problems.
Not what I’m saying at all. When you been building software for 10 years you would think they could do both. Make something with stability and also have features. That is what I’m saying.

IPhone X/ios11 is so good “sarcasm” Was unresponsive Wouldn’t go home. No matter what. Thought I’d take a video to show you all what I deal with everyday. The video is my phone.

This is always the default fall back position, isn't it?
Anyone who is happy with a product is a sheep, blind, an idiot, mindless, a lemming
And anyone who is unhappy is unbiased, better informed, honest, smart and savvy

That's just total ********
I doubt we’d get those generalisations if people were helpful on here though. I’m an iPhone user of quite a few years now and I’ve seen both sides of the fence in terms of complaints. On a few occasions I’ve reported issues I’ve had and more often than not I’ve been told I’ve either been imagining it or to ‘go to Android’. There does appear to be a following unlike any other brand where people feel they need to be fiercely defensive etc. It’s quite weird.

The OP is correct in my opinion in regards to iOS 11. It’s the buggiest iOS I’ve used in all the years I’ve had iPhones and iPads. It pretty much crippled my battery for the first 3 months of its release where I was needing to charge everyday by 2pm. I didn’t have that issue with iOS 10 and it’s taken months for Apple to rectify it. They did do it eventually, but it has been a frustrating few months.

I have been very happy with Apple hardware and software in 2017. I purchased AirPods, an Apple Watch Series 3, an iPad Pro 10.5, an Apple TV 4K, and an iPhone X. All of which have been perfect for me. I don't see what you are seeing, I am happy with iOS 11.

And for security any other phone would be better at security for me as I don’t use Face ID. Since i don’t like it.
Why did you buy a $1000 phone with a major feature, that you “don’t like”. Then don’t use that feature, and state that any other phone would be better at security? You chose not to use the main security feature on the phone. Doesn’t make sense.
You do know there is an iPhone 8, right? No FaceID. Sounds like what you want.

You probably can’t even relate to those of us not using current generation devices then. The bugs have been even worse on slightly older iPhones.

That's true, probably why I don't like running new software on old hardware. OP was referring to his iPhone X though, which I have never had an issue with. His/her video is also not typical behavior at all so I suppose I am just lucky.

There'll always be loads of stuff that iOS won't do simply because that's practically an unlimited number of things you could think of that *could* be done, but which Apple probably shouldn't waste their time doing. Most of what you said is stuff that could be done but is so minor it's probably not worth the time and effort to do it.

I think the more interesting question is, what could Apple do with iOS that would actually be worthwhile implementing that it doesn't already do?

Tend to agree here, everything listed didn't add much value at all and is just personal preference. It's not necessarily "doing" anything, just looking different. For me, a dark mode is the only other thing I really want for iOS. Another superficial feature though so I am not holding out hope.

Apple doesn’t really do superficial features. That’s android territory really.

As we all know though, no iPhone behaves the same as another, even new ones.

I don't know, I feel like it has to fall on the user somehow. I rarely have any bugs in my devices (10 plus years of iOS) and I tend to think "I can't just be lucky can I?" Maybe though. I always start fresh when I buy a new device so maybe that helps.

the only bug I've had on IOS 11 has been random crash where it does the spinning then 5 secs later it asks for passcode but 11.3 has fixed this issue.

I think that depends on your perspective. None of the stuff I mentioned is minor to me and is worth implementing.

It's worth it to me to jailbreak to get it at least.
