For 11” iPad Pro 1tb (to get 16gb ram)
WiFi+cellular
Applecare

no case
No keyboard
No pencil

Just because you have lost your mind doesn’t mean I have...seriously who would pay that price?
Much like iPhones have slowly crept up in price, to a ridiculous value.
Another pet hate.....electric cars are bloomin ludicrous prices, great way to persuade people to go green..... ?

This price jump was actually fairly sudden albeit the original price increase occurred 3 years ago.

If Apple puts the new screen in the 11 next year I'm guessing the base price will be $899. If that's the case it better come with 256gb and another port for that kind of money.

"In 2020, 218 million laptops were forecast to be shipped, with nearly 160 million tablet units shipped in the same year too."

https://www.statista.com/statistics...forecast-for-tablets-laptops-and-desktop-pcs/
Apple iPads which is what is being talked about sold 45 million last year....always a side piece that they want to keep throwing couple fast components in to make people think it might replace as a main BUT only for the MacBook...and using price out of wack...using lots of leftover parts from previous models for fill in. Truth

I fully expect Xcode, Final Cut Pro, and Logic (or some subset of these three apps) to make an appearance at WWDC. 16GB of RAM is overkill for the iPad unless Apple is planning something. And now, there is NO difference other than OS between M1 iPad and M1 Mac Mini.

I fail to see the problem that OP has? Where can you get comparable product for cheaper? Microsoft Surface is at least a couple hundred $$$ more expensive, and that is without cellular...
And a worse system overall.

Plus the jump from 2020 to 2021.

2020 iPad Pro 12.9 1TB LTE $1649
2021 iPad Pro 12.9 1TB LTE $1999
Yea, and it’s coming to light that the extra ram is virtually useless...doesn’t anyone find Apple deceiving in this and are angry spending what 800-1000 for the extra ram comfig?
I’m thinking now iPad Air 4 is the Best Buy for the consumer for an iPad period

Why would you think they would do that when 12.9” was increased by $100 for miniLED only?

microsoft surface has a full blown desktop OS which is capable of doing far more than iPad OS.
But far worse tablet experience and crappy battery life, about 4-5 hrs with normal use, even after using all battery saving measures. At least with Pro 7.

Why would I be angry? In 2018, I couldn't justify the price so I just didn't buy it.

Granted, I already wanted 1TB to begin with so for me, the RAM's just $200 extra. I actually find it more tolerable this time because at least 1TB gives you 8GB more RAM versus in 2018 when the extra $400 upgrade to 1TB only gave you 2GB more.

I expect Apple's best selling iPad is the $329 model and it's actually a very good device.

Mind, you do realize you can get the $799 iPad Pro 11 and it will have M1 vs A14 chip, double the RAM (8GB vs 4GB) and double the storage (128GB vs 64GB) as the $599 Air 4? Not to mention features such as quad speakers, ProMotion, etc.

Plus the jump from 2020 to 2021.

2020 iPad Pro 12.9 1TB LTE $1649
2021 iPad Pro 12.9 1TB LTE $1999

Technically, 2021 is 5G.

Price increase for the 2020 -> 2021 12.9" broken down is:
$100 Mini-LED
$200 +8GB RAM
$50 5G

For 11" 1TB Wi-Fi, the difference is exactly $200 for the RAM. The 128-512GB WiFi models are the same price as 2021.

Because it's what they should do, it's what people want and it would make sense. Unfortunately it probably won't happen.

Good for you. But for me, and a great deal of other folks who depend on the drawing performance heavily, the brand has become a joke.

I don't draw. Personal experience with any device is dependent upon your usage patterns. The SP7 fits mine well. You can call the iPad a joke for some usage patterns.

What did they deceive you on? As far as I saw, they didn't even really talk about it, just listed the amount of RAM.
