That's because Android is a queen that needs constant attention and maintenance.
Clear this cache, clear that cache, reset this reset that. Screw that noise.

Yep. I'm a natural tinkerer and I love tech and messing with settings and different launchers and all that. On paper, Android is certainly more for me. But the usability just goes out the window in a rather short period of time and for me, my phone simply needs to "just work"..and "just work" all the time. Apple makes the only phone on the market that fits that bill and I think iOS is pretty darn great anyway, even with the "walled garden". The fluidity of it all really is amazing.

And that's one of the reasons iphones cost more. An iOS that is built from ground up. Unlike Android, that has 1,000 varieties and poor quality control.

I'm not going to be dramatic about this, but Apple is dead to me.

Okay, they were not sophisticated enough to imbed a touch id button under the screen so instead they go with Face ID. That's fine. But don't take us for fools by using Face ID as one of the X's big ticket items. I feel robbed. We already had a security measure in place, so what do they do, use an alternative security measure as a big new thing to come to iphone because they have hardly anything else to talk about, they have run out of ideas, there is nothing new with the X

Wireless charging. Yea great. Now iphone is only 2 years behind every other phone.

Oled display. Seriously is Apple that bereft of ideas that they have to talk about what every other ****ing smartphone in 2017 has?

Better camera and more powerful chip. This is what you can expect to be the big feature next year because they will have nothing new for next year so expect a better camera and a more powerful chip next year too.

This was supposed to be the biggy. This year Apple was supposed to come out of its post Steve Jobs shell and deliver. **** them, all they did was another incremental upgrade, and I'm talkking about the iphone x.

Where's the big softeare features? Still the same boring as ******* grid of apps, no ability to customise, not even split screen multitasking, it's 2017 for crying out loud. - "the most advanced mobile phone operating system" - yea right, pig's farking ass it is.

Time to start looking at the Note 8 because Apple is dead to me after this keynote.

See you, would not want to be you. Make your own phone....

Maybe your hands are always dirty[/QUOTE]
Could be, but then replacement phone cleaned it very well. Actually now it came to me that the phone looks like a soap bar. Now it finally makes sense...

Is it too much to ask for the iphone to deliver something original and new? Iphone 4s was the last time that happened. And piece of **** Samsung??? Go check out the reviews of the Note 8, its capabilities leave the X looking like a dinosaur.

Honestly, yes it is. It is too much to ask for ANY phone to deliver something original and new. The smartphone is a super mature product now (it was arguably mature about 4 or 5 years ago). We're not going to see anything earth shattering anymore. The X will run laps around every other phone on the market, at least for the next generation if not two. That's something, but understandably just "meh". Samsung hasn't done anything earth shattering either. Nobody has.

Aside from possibly the Air Pods (I don't own them, so I'm just going off of others' reactions), Apple hasn't made anything "new" or "magical" since the original iPhone. They say those types of groundbreaking products hit but once per decade. Well, our decade is used up now. Let's see what happens.

Completely agree with the OP.
Just ordered a S8. Time to try something new. $1500 is bat-sh** crazy.

Out of curiosity......how exactly it run laps around every other phone in the market? If anything, it has finally caught up to any other flagship in the market, and how do you know it will keep doing this for at least one or two more generations?

Is good Apple has finally caught up with the competition, but they aren't innovating either. Every single feature on this "Future of Smartphones" had been available in the competition before, from the edge to edge OLED screen to Windows hell0...sorry, face ID!

Is cool the caught up and is a cool device, what is not cool is that they also introduced another minor update to their 2014 model, sold it as the iPhone 8 line at the same usual flagship prices (slightly higher) and to use this as an excuse to bump to 1000 the usual flagship........that's a rip off and they do it because they can get away with it. I'm sure if no one purchased this phone, it would be reduced by at least 200 but obviously that will not happen, as Apple followers will just get the newest phone no matter what. Apple knows this and now is capitalizing it.

They're not dead to me but last year I finally managed to take off my apple goggles. Which felt nice. It's the headphone jack that did it for me.

Looking at the features and prices this year I'm kinda glad I got out.

There's always a chance I'll go back, but not this year.

Haha always see iSheeps calling Samsung phones sh*t, if so Samsung makes the big news OLED screen for iPhone X, that means iPhones X has a new sh*t screen.

I am referring to speed, not features or anything else. I'll be the first one to point out the features Android & Samsung had 4 years before Apple. However, Apple continues to release the fastest phones on the market, over and over again. If anything, the last couple releases have pushed them even farther ahead than before.

I think iPhone sales will be surprising this year. Myself and family members upgrade our iPhones every year. About 8 of us. This year none of us are upgrading. ZERO. None of us want a rebranded 7 and none of us can buy the 1K X because we would have to all cut our space in half. The only option is the 1500 X which is completely unreasonable. And yes, with Apple Care Plus (increased to $200) and tax, it comes out to about $1500.

This year was Apples worst year ever. Ive never said that before.

Im looking forward to my S8 coming tomorrow. Well see how it goes.

Errrr, just because Samsung makes it doesn't mean that their phones also use it. Samsung makes all sorts of components not used in their own products. If someone wants to dismiss everything they make, then they're... uneducated.

Correct, those iSheeps are uneducated you can say that. Samsung use their own OLED (AMOLED) screens in their phones and they got called crap, now they make the screen for iPhone X it's like a god send. Hypocrites

Yeah all phones are plenty fast......yeah your iPhone X will be the best running geekbench for sure. But is not that big in an improvement. On the 4S, 5S days and before we used to se 3-4X the performance of the previous, but right now, the difference between an iPhone X and the 7 is rought 25% in the high performance cores and the GPU is even less (GPU improvement used to be within 5 times).

At the end of the day flaghships from Apple and Samsung are going to be quite fast, but feature wise Apple is just catching up to the others, but selling it at an outrageous price just because they can, as the blind fans will follow.

You might feel different if you sit down here in 95 degree weather without power for a couple of days. We had six people die in a nursing home last night.....

Complaining about seeing same commentary over and over ad naseum does not mean I don't feel for all those suffering. Look at bright side, with no electricity you don't need to watch CNN say same thing over and over again.

A ton of complaining going on. Most people are paying for the phones monthly so who cares how much it costs? It's fifty bucks a month on the upgrade program.
