I'm really excited that finally they recognize that 60Hz isn't that great. (it is fine until you know better)

I have a 144Hz monitor on my gaming PC and it is so smooth.

I now wish that Apple will introduce these screens in Macs eventually.

So happy I waited for the new 12.9 iPP (I was prepared to wait until November). Wasn't expecting the 512GB capacity bump this soon. Now I'm tempted to updated my 9.7 iPP to the 10.5 iPP 512GB, too. :p

Yeah, I got blindsided by that one and ProMotion. Had they not done these two, I would have considered my 12.9 iPP as a good deal!

12.9 users have little reason to upgrade really from what was said.

Agreed. Really shows some longevity for that original 12.9".

Unless they want to move to the 10.5 for a more portable device with same resolution (I'm assuming the same resolution?)

Edit: resolution is lower. Hmm, really curious to see these new iPads in person.

According to my information, 0.3mm thicker but that could be wrong of course so nobody can no for sure until they update the site.
My information was wrong! and i'm glad! The iPad Pro is more compact than I expected, retaining the 6.1mm thickness. The downside to that is that you still have the huge camera bump.

It's a blessing in disguise that there were no deals for 12.9 iPad Pro 256GB Verizon LTE model. Would've been too tempted to get that and I would really regret not having the storage bump (currently have ~30GB free space on my 9.7 iPP 256GB).

That said, upgrading to the 9.7 iPP back in March 2016 was still a good decision. I was pretty much at the end of my tether with frustration making do with the iPad Air 16GB.

No Mention on RAM Apple never mentions RAM we needs to wait for a Teardown for that once the device releases.

So far the 10.5" iPad Pro look Amazing same Size as 9.7" just bigger display.

600nits
Wide Color Gamut
HDR
And 120hz refresh rate.
No word on Reolution maybe the same.
6 Core CPU Really it's just an A9 with 1 Extra Core Each. Only 3 are useable at any given time.

how much ram in the 10.5 iPad Pro?

If that works for you that's great. I bought the 12.9 Pro over the 9.7 Pro in March '16. Some things about the 9.7 Pro didn't "feel" right to me. 15 months later, the 9.7 Pro is discontinued.

Yeah, I was losing my patience with my iPad Air when I got the iPad Pro (and needed the iPad Air still for legacy apps; can't afford to lose or get it damaged if I use it outside)

I am going to see how much I can get the iPad Pro for and then buy the new one ASAP since I think I still have a chance to recoup most of my "losses" (since this iPad happened to have just a bit warranty left), the iPad Pro did serve its purpose in confirming that I needed a bigger form factor all these while and also needed the strongest iPad I can get.

I don't think so. I didn't hear it (though there was a flood of info in that keynote)... and Apple never mentions RAM in the iPads.
That's why it struck me as so strange. Apple has never commented on the amount of RAM in their iOS devices.

It's not like my 9.7 iPP is gonna stop working tomorrow all of a sudden. I'm just tempted to upgrade to the 10.5 iPP solely for the 512GB storage. Given I'm buying the 12.9 iPP 512GB either way, I'm okay sticking with my 9.7 iPP for a couple more years as my medium-sized tablet.

If I had bought the 12.9 iPad Pro back in March, I'd still replace it now (512GB, USB3). That extra storage is a lot more important to me on the bigger iPad.
