Doubt it would be less weight without some sort of dimension change. Fingers crossed for something new at WWDC, but not expecting much.
There is a change in dimensions... although it's bigger and thicker so not favourable for those hoping for a lighter iPad. It probably won't be a big change though.

Hilarious read.

It doesn't make sense for Apple to keep the 9.7" Pro when the 10.5" has roughly the same form factor. I wish the author made this a little more realistic.

"Hey everyone, we have great news for you today. We had a marvelous vision to redesign the iPad Pro and we did just that. We managed to increase the screen size to 10.5" with a tiny increase in dimensions. But we're going to keep the 9.7" Pro, and we're going to make it even cheaper."

Me: So we have 2 9.7" tablets, 1 10.5" tablet that's the same form factor as the 9.7" tablet, and a possibility of no 12.9" or an old 12.9" tablet? WOW, that's a ****ed up line up Apple.

I wish.
The change in size is basically relative to the change in screen size, but yeah they are similar (roughly a 13% increase in front surface area, 19% increase in volume). The 10.5" has always been designed to replace the 9.7" Pro, so the only way we would see it remain in the lineup is if Apple offers it as a low end Pro model (maybe $499) but I don't expect it to be updated. As for the 12.9", i don't know where they got their information or maybe it's just their speculation but it's not true.

I'm kind of sad they're going to update the 12.9 with an A10x when Apple is ready to roll out the A11.

For the 12.9"? The focus has been on the 10.5" so I probably missed that rumor. That's good news though. Super excited for tomorrow.

So how much bigger and thicker is the 10.5" iPP going to be when compared to the 9.7" iPP ?

anyone knows with how many hours apple usually close the store for new products to be updated?

The more I think about that Lightning to HDMI issue, the more I actually care about the new iPad so I am back here lol.

Main issue now is whether Lightning will be continued or will these iPads start using USB C. This alone will affect my next moves.

So the future of computing for ipad is closing in since starting with ios11 we will have file management and drag and drop. And lets see what else, but those 2 alone are making the ipad and the largerscreen a value for money

Apple Online Store down, being updated for the WWDC

Looks like the rumours are true after all
We've known them to be true for the past month at the very least, it's usually true when they snowball like they did and the 10.5 iPad Pro was supposed to release in March but Apple delayed it till now.

I guess I was too skeptical then; not helping that some rumours were proven false then

Now I kinda wonder if pulling the trigger early was the right move. I will go bonkers if by a rare chance the Lightning port is abandoned somehow due to what I found out recently.

We shall see as per usual?
