Of course, I don't know why people are considering the possibility that there won't be a new 12.9". There will be. As for the mini, I don't expect it to be removed from the lineup so quickly, if at all. Despite reported sales, Apple could still update it with spec bumps or even implement other features. I am really hoping they do.
I don't know why people feel the need to state their opinions as if they are facts.

But There will be a new 12.9 IPad . It's been 1.5 year since the launch of the original iPad Pro 12.9 . Time to update!

be very interesting what they do to improve the 12.9 pro 2.

going to be hard to.
Ipad Pro is great. The only major changes they need are to IOS such as the ability to hook up directly to portable SSD. Furthermore, be great to see drag and drop between apps, running more than 2 apps on iPad 12.9 for example at once. Also be great to see some apps like Microsoft Office, Adobe step up with a greater degree of options available in their apps so there is less distinction between their range of system apps. Apple could lead the way with this by porting Final Cut Pro into IOS. Love the Ipad pro and IOS as find its simplicity great. So many great apps already and be nice to see these type of additions

So being that an iPad Pro 10.5 / 12.9 announcement is imminent for next week. Will Apple be releasing the new iPad's for sale right after? Or will this be held until the proposed IOS 11 would release, with the iPhone. I have a 12.9 and would consider upgrading to the 10.5 if the whole design is better, I doubt I will upgrade to a 12.9, the one I have is plenty fast.

One week later for ordering, two to ship is my estimate.

Faster processor, 6-8 GB RAM and TrueTone will probably be everything.

I just saw that two new cell phones will come with 8 gb ram. Would love to see that in an iPad Pro 2 but I think there's no chance of that happening, unfortunately.

I am wondering if any new accessories will be out with these new hardware (assuming that what we heard aren't rumours)

I hope to see a refresh of the Lightning Digital AV adapter at least

Maybe not. While using the Procreate app, much like the iPad Air 2, one can only use the biggest canvas with up to two layers (unlike a dozen with the 12.9). All I am hoping for is something that will make the smaller pro truly a pro device like the 12.9 in that regard.

Bit lighter maybe? It's a shame they won't be cutting the bezels down a little bit on it too, would help with overall size/weight.
Doubt it would be less weight without some sort of dimension change. Fingers crossed for something new at WWDC, but not expecting much.

A new iPad Pro would need to blow me away considering the steal I got buying the 12.9 back when.

They did some 3D touch hack with the pen a while back. Pen 2 probably needed for it this time.

Hilarious read.

Finally, hardware: Yes, new iPad Pros are coming. Specifically, a new 10.5" iPad Pro with thinner bezels all the way around and a new super great chip. There will be a new Smart Keyboard Cover (and regular case/Smart Cover) as well as a new Pen which magnetically attaches to the new iPad Pro. The 12.9" won't see an update, might be discontinued, but if not will certainly drop in price. The 9.7" Pro will drop in price to fill the gap between the new 9.7" introduced earlier this year and the new 10.5". Gruber said he'd love for the Smart Keyboard Cover to feature a trackpad for some non-pointer related gestures, and he's right that it would be awesome, but Apple's like: "dudes be happy with this new iPad and new Apple Pencil which is inexplicably more expensive than the last one was."

It doesn't make sense for Apple to keep the 9.7" Pro when the 10.5" has roughly the same form factor. I wish the author made this a little more realistic.

"Hey everyone, we have great news for you today. We had a marvelous vision to redesign the iPad Pro and we did just that. We managed to increase the screen size to 10.5" with a tiny increase in dimensions. But we're going to keep the 9.7" Pro, and we're going to make it even cheaper."

Me: So we have 2 9.7" tablets, 1 10.5" tablet that's the same form factor as the 9.7" tablet, and a possibility of no 12.9" or an old 12.9" tablet? WOW, that's a ****ed up line up Apple.

Honestly, you should just watch Viticci's video, because everything except the Shelf and customizable toolbar buttons is definitely coming to iOS 11.

I wish.

??? It is quite logic: First is they'd have to bring it at least to iPAD Pro 9.7 standards: latest screen coatings with lesser reflectance than the old 12.9 (difference is visible), truetone for warmer and better colours, faster processor, new iOS features (albeit probably not as much as wished for). Yes external SSD connection for backup would be heavenly, but I doubt it.

I had an interesting experience. I ordered an iPad 12.9(AT&T, 128GB Space Gray) on my company's premier site almost a month back and was told the iPad 12.9s have been backordered since February and they have no idea when they will come. I was fine with it as I thought once the new ones are announced it will be sent to me. Lo and behold the item ships this past week and I received it on friday. When I check the serial number, it said week 20 of 2017(mid-May). If the new iPads are imminent, would apple continue to produce the current version?

Apple continues to produce for months or even years a product after the introduction of a new version.
iPhone 6 (for example) is still in production.
