wtf Apple…. In Canada you can only do the Pre-Pre order if you select the Financing option, the Pre-Order button disappears if you choose “pay in full”. Is that maybe a bug? Se pay in full only allows you to save for later.

Yup, I am in Canada and also only see the option to save for later when paying in full. Have you been able to resolve this?

Yes, I just did this.
I did my order first, then did a second for my spouse. When you get to the connectivity part, choose the option of get a new iPhone with any carrier.
From there I choose Verizon, it then asked for the phone number being replaced and billing zip code. It then sent a code via text message to that line that I had to enter for verification.

Anyone get a message saying “Notify Me” with a one time notification when trying to pre-pre order with T-Mobile trade in on Apple’s site? Says they’ll reach out when they are able to process it. First year with T-Mobile in a while, but it looks like selecting ATT gives the same message.

I think they may be updating this right now as the “notify me” option is now gone for me. Now I just see a greyed out “continue” button that can’t be clicked.

I’m on AT&T and with the iPhone Ipgrade Program. Mine went through.

Are you sure you’re eligible for an upgrade?

I’m not trying to be insulting, but if you’re not eligible yet, it might not show up. I got an e-mail from them after my August payment, saying that I was now eligible. I bought on launch day last year. If you bought (or it was delivered) a few weeks after, you might not have made twelve payments yet.

I haven't done this 'get ready' thing before. I'm curious where/when in the process it lets you choose instore pick up and instore trade in?
I would vastly prefer to trade in store as the apple store is within walking distance to me and to avoid mail in issues.
All the faq questions on the page talk about mail in trade in only.

Is this stuff you have to choose on launch day? Just trying to figure out how fast and how much info Ill hace to select on 9/15 lol. Thanks!

• Is it just possible ?
• Is there a lot of pre-order usually?
• If I pre-order right away, will I have it on the 22th (usually?) or it can be delayed ? if it's delayed will I know it right away (and will I be able to cancel the order since I won't be in NYC after?)

In my experience pre ordering phones. It is highly likely if you do it first thing in the morning, that you will get it on official release day. When you pre order it will tell you when it’s expected to come. I wouldn’t cancel it. if there is no difference, I’d maybe see if I could send it to the hotel, or do an in store pickup in NYC.

You could also plan to try and buy it in NYC, providing there are no differences in the US vs EU phones. I do not know what the tax implications are this way. I don’t know if you have to pay a duty or something like it.

I will pre-order it and retrieve it from the Apple store, don't want to bother with delivery since I will be in a rush.

The only difference is e-SIM only in the US, but I don't mind.
For the taxes, if you do importation to resell you have to pay the UE taxes, but since it's personnal and I will be using it before arriving in the UE it's fine.

I don’t know if it will or Verizon will charge later when transferring the SIM as now we do not have physical sims anymore!

It’s 100% unlocked, and should be hardware ready for CDMA and GSM.

I chose unlocked, so I’ll find out if they charge me the upgrade fee next week. I chose the same option last year for the 14PM and was never charged the upgrade fee.

you need to select a carrier, but that doesn't mean it's carrier locked because all iPhones bought with ACMI are unlocked, so you can switch carriers at any time.
I agree it's weird, but it seems more a theoretical move rather than a practical one.
Even if you select Verizon and go through the process you will receive an unlocked iPhone.

is it posted somewhere that all phones bought through apple via apple card monthly installments are UNLOCKED? Even if one selects a carrier at purchase?

I setup two with Affirm Financing, and they are in my bag waiting. I think the point of this Get Ready is more for setting up the financing; I am pre-approved so no glitches during checkout. With the pay in full payment option you should just select your saved configuration from your bag and use your credit card to complete the transaction.

It sounds like that, but it is convenient; I'm part of and love the iPhone upgrade program.

You can check different configurations, add Apple Care, etc. You have an idea of what the final monthly payment will be, then on pre-order day, you just press a confirm order button and get it on launch day if that is important for you.

Great Plan, as long as you're AT&T, T Mobile or Verizon... I'm Cricket.... I always used the apple card and the Finance option, but they took that away this year, unless you are big three.

Apple did away with intrest free financing, Unless the phone is pre programed to one of the approved carriers, on Aug 15th, of this year..... Sorry You can't finance it if you aren't AT&T, T Mobile, or Verizon.

Interest free is gone thanks to the bank of Canada raising interest rates to 5%, so everything from cars to any type of loan is no longer 0%.
