"Get ready"? I'm so tired of the Apple gaslighting on this stuff. People who are going to buy this thing at 5 a.m. on Friday knew they what they were going to buy after the end of the webinar today. An no USB-C cable with the phone?
Usb-c cable is included. No charger , however.

Will do the Blue 15PM but am torn between the 256 and 512. Right now I have used 203 of 256 on my current phone. I think about 130 of that is photos as I’ve always kept the full resolution pics on my device (probably unnecessarily).
A bit apprehensive to turn on optimize photos as I have it in my head that scrolling thru photos will be slower as the photos app tries to download the full res versions from iCloud. Do those of you that use optimize photos find you use a ton more data?
And if u are using an app that imports a photo, they all use the full res version having downloaded it first, right? Assume it’s not just Apple made apps or “major” apps that do that and it’s built into the iOS functionality.
Optimize photos makes that portion of storage negligible. I’ve never had an issue scrolling or viewing photos with it on. The only noticeable download instances are editing photos/viewing memories and videos. That slight inconvenience is worth the trade off. Apple gets my extra storage money from iCloud.

A charging cable is all they need to include and did include. If you're one of the few people who transfers data with a wire from their iPhone, then you need a data cable. But the vast majority do not need that capability.

Currently have the 14 Pro on Barclays 0% over 24 months in the UK. Previously I’ve been able to trade in, close my current loan and start a new loan. But the only option it is giving me is £520 credit towards the new phone, and no option to close my current loan 😩

I asked Apple directly and according to them if the phone is unlocked and the carrier did not ask for verification, then it's fine.
The only one currently locked is the iPhone sold trough the At&T Monthly Installments plan.
So just choose T-Mobile and activate it with any carrier?
Verizon looks like will perform a credit check with Apple Card!

What money did they take?

I’m in the iPhone Upgrade Program, so I’ve never seen them take a deposit.
They did for me too. I’m using Apple Card monthly installments and they charged the tax to my card. It also now shows up as an item I’m financing in the Wallet app.

just remember, for more than half of us here, Friday will be a poop show. but what's this about it taking tax already, it didn't used to do that until Friday. because technically you can still change your order on Friday and you are not purchasing it right now. weird.

Will that work? I want to do the same thing to avoid the verizon upgrade fee. The only way I avoided this fee in the pass was to just buy a carrier free iphone, but now you have to pay full price for that. So I was thinking maybe buying the Tmobile iPhone and then adding it to verizon it would work.

I don’t know if it will or Verizon will charge later when transferring the SIM as now we do not have physical sims anymore!

It’s 100% unlocked, and should be hardware ready for CDMA and GSM.

I bought my iPhone 13 Pro Max carrier free last time from apple with 2 year financing with the apple card and I was able to transfer over my esim from my old iPhone to my new iPhone without any upgrade fees. So I'm hoping it works the same way if I but the Tmobile one.

I'm in the IUP and I use the same payment model but I have not been charged any tax amount, not yet anyways. The site did indicate tax would be collected as before but nothing has hit my card yet.

Me, too, and I've got a series 4. At the end of the day my series 4 is still working great so it's hard to justify a S9 and if a Series X is indeed going to get a redesign, my series 4 could easily last another year.
I didn't even think about that! I'll probably wait at least another year; but if the redesign happens next year then I may do it

How would the AT&T 1000 trade in work with this get ready to order. If I choose ATT it asks for the full 1200 price.

@Pentium
it should, but it seems logical.

Reason is: when Apple announced this move we all inferred that they would sell carrier locked iPhone if financed with Apple Card.
But truth is, they are unlocked (Apple says that "an iPhone purchased with ACMI is always unlocked, so you can switch carriers at any time"), and because they are unlocked it means it can be activated and work with any carrier (otherwise they wouldn't be unlocked).

Since they are unlocked, what could a carrier do? Check out your info before they let you proceed. Verizon does that, but since it's unlocked after they verified you are a customer and you received it, you could give it to you mother-in-law who's on Mint and it would work.

TMobile doesn't even do that, no checks. It's just an unlocked iPhone that will work with any esim.

Anyway, as a plan B for activation purpose, TMobile sells prepaid esim for 10$.
