Question, I want to use the Apple Card 24mo payment option, but don’t intend to activate the phone with one of the three main carriers. I’m on Mint. I can select T-Mobile and it allows me to complete the preorder registration without asking me for any carrier details. Will I have a problem on the launch day order or with the phone once I get it?
You may have problems with the latter.

were you able to save it correctly?

I asked Apple directly and according to them if the phone is unlocked and the carrier did not ask for verification, then it's fine.
The only one currently locked is the iPhone sold trough the At&T Monthly Installments plan.

Didn’t see an option to set my shipping address. Does this happen on Friday? (Buying outright with Apple Pay).

I ask because I want to deliver to a different shipping address than what my billing credit card address is. Will this be an issue?
Settings > Wallet and Apple Pay. Scroll down to transaction defaults and click on shipping address to change. I don't see that option when going directly to the Wallet app. On friday you might be able to change the shipping address before you finalize the order.

I’m in the iPhone Upgrade Program, so I’ve never seen them take a deposit.

Same here.

Will we be able to pre-order for an in-store (launch day) pickup?

Only if it is available. When I did the pre-qualification the model I chose (Pro Max, 1 TB, blue) wasn't available for store pickup, only delivery.

Yes, you can order it for in-store pickup if you like.

If available.

I want to use the Apple Card 24mo payment option,

Isn't it only 12 months unless you are on the upgrade program?

I know it’s apple upgrade program. Seeing if a certain subset of people were having issues. Some people on Verizon mentioned they were having issues with the Apple Upgrade Program.
I’m on AT&T and with the iPhone Ipgrade Program. Mine went through.

Are you sure you’re eligible for an upgrade?

I’m not trying to be insulting, but if you’re not eligible yet, it might not show up. I got an e-mail from them after my August payment, saying that I was now eligible. I bought on launch day last year. If you bought (or it was delivered) a few weeks after, you might not have made twelve payments yet.

I'm buying out right and unlocked. It says I'm ready
256GB Blue Pro Max
Also ordered a Spigen Case and Temper glass earlier.
Almost time for the X to be retired

Will do the Blue 15PM but am torn between the 256 and 512. Right now I have used 203 of 256 on my current phone. I think about 130 of that is photos as I’ve always kept the full resolution pics on my device (probably unnecessarily).
A bit apprehensive to turn on optimize photos as I have it in my head that scrolling thru photos will be slower as the photos app tries to download the full res versions from iCloud. Do those of you that use optimize photos find you use a ton more data?
And if u are using an app that imports a photo, they all use the full res version having downloaded it first, right? Assume it’s not just Apple made apps or “major” apps that do that and it’s built into the iOS functionality.

Yeah the carrier offers, especially AT&T, are pretty bad with 36months to get the full $1,000 trade in discount.
I buy outright too (at least last couple of years) having left iPhone upgrade program. Sell my existing phone myself…getting $800 for 14PM 256 via sellcell.com as opposed to $650 that Apple offer.

Is anyone else on Verizon getting a message saying they’re not eligible for an upgrade because they’re not part of the program?

I’ve been doing this every year forever and I’ve never come across this message before. Spent about 3 hours on the phone with support for them to tell me it could just be a glitch. I sure hope it is because it doesn’t make any sense.
Verizon pissed me off so much today during this whole process that I switched back to T-Mobile and everything went smoothly. I spent 4 hours today on the phone with the most incompetent bunch folks I've ever had the misfortunate of dealing with.

I just submitted my pre-order. I'm going with an iPhone 15 Pro 256 Blue upgrading from iPhone 14 Pro 128 Purple which will go to my wife.
