I’ve gone through the set up for two iPhone 15 Pros (Natural for me, white for my wife). Does anybody know how it works on the day? I’d like to be as ready as possible to order as quickly as possible. What happens exactly? Can I ‘finalise’ both iPhones at the same time, or do I have to do them one after the other?

Don't forget, T-Mobile systems went down last year during the iPhone 14 launch, and by the time they came back up, pre-order times slipped by weeks and weeks. It pays to be prepared.

I bought my iPhone 13 Pro Max carrier free last time from apple with 2 year financing with the apple card and I was able to transfer over my esim from my old iPhone to my new iPhone without any upgrade fees. So I'm hoping it works the same way if I but the Tmobile one.
Yeah I was able to that every year for the last 3 years. This year Goldman Sachs policy changed, they want every financed phone to be attached to a carrier - that is what apple support told me.

It is kinda weird as the carrier is not financing the phone, and the financing through the card is only available to the major 3 carriers (T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon). The first two options does not even verify your account, but if you choose Verizon, you will be taken to an external page where you need to log in and authorize a credit check.

you need to select a carrier, but that doesn't mean it's carrier locked because all iPhones bought with ACMI are unlocked, so you can switch carriers at any time.
I agree it's weird, but it seems more a theoretical move rather than a practical one.
Even if you select Verizon and go through the process you will receive an unlocked iPhone.

Yeah, but why I will let Verizon credit check me if I already have an Apple Card?

I'm not sure about that 🤔
What I meant is that regardless the carrier you select when using ACMI you will get an unlocked phone anyway, and it will work with any carrier.

More than likely, it is set this way so everyone involved gets a slice of the customer profit pie.

It's the same as every year, except they took some money this time! So, I've already made a payment on the pre-order to the pre-order! I better get the phone I want on Friday the 22nd!!! Lol!

Took some money? On the Apple Upgrade program? I wasn’t charged anything for my pre-pre-order.

I am in Canada and got a pre approval from Affirm which was enough to purchase two iPhones from Apple. When I went through the actual process though, I had to add each iPhone 15 Pro Max individually (Black 512GB for myself and Natural 256GB for my Wife), and was not able to do the two on one transaction. Interestingly also, Affirm does not finance tax so that is set to pay automatically 30 days after or something.

Should be stressful fun on Friday checking them both out (will do mine first LOL). Currently they are both approved and sitting in there saved for preorder, and tells me to come back Friday at 5:00am to checkout. I have never done it this way before and usually bought outright, or through phone provider so hoping it goes smoothly... should be just two clicks haha!!!

BTW, we are upgrading from iPhone 11 Pro Max. Phones still work fine and see no reason to upgrade, but think 4 years is a record for me considering prior to that I purchased a new iPhone every year. This iPhone 15 seems like the right time time to get because of USB C.

The problem with choosing Verzion though and letting them do the check is when you get that phone they will charge you a upgrade fee. I think if you get the TMobile phone and switch esim to Verizon you won't pay that upgrade fee as it looks like you just switched devices and not actually upgraded. I'm sure going to try that way.

Exactly the same here - keen to know the best practice here too.
Do we keep refreshing the page where both the preorders are listed and can you add them both to the same basket or do we need to do 2 separate orders.

I jumped through all the hoops to "get ready" including authenicating Apple Pay and carrier info (VZ charges $35 to transfer the phone), added accessories to bag and at the end I click the box and nothing happens....

I then exited and went view "saved for preorder" and I get "It looks like you don’t have an iPhone saved for pre-order".
Did the whole thing all over again, saving the selection for iPhone midway through, and got the same result. Nothing saved.

WTF???
====
2 hrs later, after trying about 6 times, choosing pay in full w/ apple pay, I finally selected "all carriers" to be chosen at purchase, and it accepted the "get ready".

Never bought an iPhone on first day before. If I wait a few hours past 0500 is it going to run out of stock and put me on a wait list or do I have to haul myself outta the sack at 0500 to get this pre-order on the 22nd?

Anyone get a message saying “Notify Me” with a one time notification when trying to pre-pre order with T-Mobile trade in on Apple’s site? Says they’ll reach out when they are able to process it. First year with T-Mobile in a while, but it looks like selecting ATT gives the same message.

wtf Apple…. In Canada you can only do the Pre-Pre order if you select the Financing option, the Pre-Order button disappears if you choose “pay in full”. Is that maybe a bug? Se pay in full only allows you to save for later.

Yes!
I made that example with Verizon just to state that even if you go trough the checks and pay the upgrade fee, you’ll get the same unlocked iPhone you’d get anyway if you select T-Mobile.
So it’s meaningless to select Verizon…makes no sense to me.

Came here to ask the same thing, so, yes, I also got that.
