We can't let this thread die already! :p I still haven't got a Mac result, but I'll post anyway. It's a cheap but solid rig built for electronics design. The important specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3800+ rev. F (2,4GHz single core, Socket AM2)
Gigabyte GA-M55S-S3 (nForce 550)
2GB DDR2-800 4-4-4-15
Western Digital 250GB SATA2 with 16MB cache

The time to calculate the radial blur in CS2 is 1:06. No dual core goodness, but it's no slouch either. Gets the job done in the single threaded apps it will be used for.

Mac Pro 2.66
2GB RAM
Raid Scratch disks
(3 days computer up-time)

18 sec.

Mac Pro Quad 3.0

Mac Pro Quad 3.0GHZ
6 GB RAM
RAID 0 2 X WD SE 500 GB 7200 RPM 16 MB Cache SATA III

Photoshop CS2

15 Seconds

10 seconds.

BEAT THAT!

Man thats sick!! I have a PC with dual 3Ghz Xeons and I thought the 29.6 seconds it got was very fast but now I feel I have an antique. LOL.

Ok, because of this MacBytes article I tried again. This was my result, a while back:

MacBook 2 GHz with 2 GB RAM running Photoshop CS through Rosetta: 1.06

Not bad at all. Considering that my poor old iBook G4@800 with 640 MB RAM running Photoshop CS nativly used 4 min 20 sec. (Post)

And now I clocked in at 45 seconds on the same MacBook, still running CS through Rosetta...

69 seconds on the basic Core Duo Mac Mini with 1.66 GHz and 512 MB RAM (obviously running only AdiumX in the background... still all the RAM was filled up). Oh, and using CS2 under Rosetta.

15" Powerbook 1.67
1.5 gb ram
2:06

Can't wait for my now shipping Mac Pro 2.0!!

66.7-67.8 Secs

Macbook Pro
2.0 Ghz Core Duo
2 Gigs of Ram
Os x 10.4
Photoshop Cs2

OH BOY i can't wait for the UB version of photoshop.
