Seeing as animals are being discussed.... I am pleased that Apple is not based in Canada as they quite possibly would be offering seal fur cases.
Maybe they'll one day design a phone that doesn't need a case at all... 
Are you suggesting that plastic is great for the environment?
"Vegan leather" you mean pleather? That's what they used to call it.
Or you know, just plain vinyl - which is petrol.
Companies like to toss Vegan into the name to virtue signal, if we're being honest. That's really the only reason they do it.

Leather is a byproduct of the meatpacking industry. Those cows are already dead as food, they aren't killed for the leather. You're suggesting throwing out that part instead of using it, seems actually worse IMO.
probably said before but leather is part of “using the whole animal” and I believe animals raised exclusively for leather are very rare cases. Often leather is sourced from the meat industry after processing. If we stop using leather and keep eating meat, we will be wasting that part of the animal. Very sad to hear if true.

It is unlikely Apple is killing animals just for the leather. More likely, they are buying leather from animals that were already on the chopping block. So utilizing that raw material doesn't really have a carbon cost, unlike wasting it.

If anyone hasn't seen the movie "Cowspiracy" (Netflix), watch it, and you will quickly understand why Apple is discontinuing leather as a material in their lineup. You cannot purchase (or sell) new leather products as an environmentalist, and it seems like Apple (hopefully) finally caught up to that fact.

I wish I could. I rarely dropped my 11 Pro, but once I moved on to the 13 and 14 Pro I have to use a case as I drop it often due to its weight.

Never used a leather case but I assume it will absorb odors after a while like a wallet. I’m using a clear case from casekoo so I will likely stick with it for the 15 plus I like to show off the color
Gotta love the usage of the word "offer", over 40 bucks for a freaking case that flakes after a few months
Apples leather cases have been garbage the past few years anyway, good riddance.
