Well....first you take some ativan and calm down. Then you ask...why would someone who has not any inclination towards Nazism except in your own delusions do a Nazi salute? Who are they saluting? The crowd? The sky?

Once you realize it's the least probably thing in the world and then denied by the supposed saluter (why deny something you brazenly did in public). You see videos of lots of politicians making similar motions that people understand were not nazi salutes.

Only people who think Elon is a Nazi no matter what he does but among his many zany political beliefs is one they disagree with think he made a Nazi salute.

The demand for Nazi salutes dramatically exceeds the supply.

First of all, he hasn't (AFAIK) actually denied it (but feel free to prove me wrong). Which is telling in and of itself.

Second, the idea that Musk "has not any inclination towards Nazism" is utter nonsense. Without even bothering to cite the many, many instances of Musk agreeing with blatant antisemitism and racist conspiracy theories on his platform, he was literally forced to apologize (by the ADL!) for retweeting blatant antisemitism just last year. He also just spoke at a quasi-Nazi rally in Germany, where he said Germans should not "lose [German culture] in some sort of multiculturalism that dilutes everything."

Third, you do not see "lots of politicians making similar motions" (unless, of course, those politicians are Nazis).

And finally, do you know who thinks Elon is a Nazi and celebrated his salute? Actual freaking Nazis! Who were positively giddy on X after seeing his Sieg Heil last week.

I mean, I'm not going to sit here and say that Elon Musk is a Nazi, because I don't know the man personally, but I also am able to recognize that he has made comments numerous times in the media that could cause someone to believe that he has white supremacist-leanings, or at a minimum having views where he looks down on particular portions of the populace.

Of course everyone has differing opinions on all of this, but I do find it fascinating when people jump to defend him and are unable to even take an open-minded, critical thought-based approach to questioning why they believe differently from someone else.

I guess that's just human tribalism (at its worst)
I think this is all fair. But I dont think more than a few hundred people in the US have any inclination toward white supremacy and Elon isn't one of them. Thats all noise like calling Kamala a commie. Just rhetoric to create conflict and stop people from thinking.

I'd guess he realizes any backpedal or apology tour won't make a difference regarding critics. Plenty of people have their minds made up, I'm certain an apology wouldn't change any opinions for several users here.

Guilty by association. You can probably find at least one scumbag to point to and relate to any sort of action these days.

Lol so if he denies it that proves it's not true, and if he doesn't deny it that also proves it's not true. This idolatry of one of the least worthy people on the planet is pathetic.

Apple kissing the ring. Do ut des (for the Latin fans). It is very sad to see that what was the “beacon of freedom” is now becoming just another autocratic banana republic with tech oligarchs surrounding the political leader to gain even more riches while the political leader uses his offices to get richer too (Krypto memes, hotels etc.). Not sure what still distinguishes a Putin from a Xi from a Trump.

Well damn, guess the entire ICC is in the wrong because one of the prosecutors is allegedly a scumbag. You know I was totally convinced the guy financing far right political parties across Europe, and wants the leader of the most racist party in the UK released from prison for no reason, and did a carbon copy of a Nazi salute not once, but twice was a bad guy, but him going to Auschwitz for a photo op has completely convinced me otherwise!
Leftist media is truly based on this quote from Joseph Goebbels : “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."
"That guy is the most racist (I think you are talking about the person protesting immigrant rapists who were freed due to fear of racism), that other guy is a Nazi, that one over there is just pure evil, please don't ask me for source because it doesn't exist"
And as I said before, it's Joever and ministry of propaganda failed on November, real world is different from MR forum or Reddit, the sooner you realize it the better.

America is such a mess. So much for being the leader of the free world. 🤣 I thought we were bad, then half of you voted Mr Tropicana and his crowd of tech bro fascists back in.

No doubt this will get removed as off topic and I’ll get a warning.

But it’s not off topic. Sucking up to right wing fascist apartheid billionaire scumbags isn’t a good thing. You all need to give your heads a collective wobble.

Looking over the comments I think you could have 100% predicted whether people though Musks gesture was a Nazi salute by having them answer this question before it happened: Rank Musk or Trump as a Nazi on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being Hitler. Anyone who placed them higher than about a 4 was going to see a Nazi salute no matter what because thats their intellectual hammer and that how they hit everything about Musk/Trump. The rest of this discussion is just everyone revealing their priors including me (Musk is a 2, Trump 2.2).

Some peoples already had Musk at an 9 or 10 so if he fell down a stairs and put his arm out they would see a Nazi salute. No amount of evidence seems to convince people one way or the other. All just priors playing out.

That's not what I mean at all. I don't think he could say anything to prove or disprove at this point, or change anyone's opinions. Once you reach a certain level of attention, I imagine you ignore the noise. From his end, why bother saying anything at all? You accuse me of being an idolater when I haven't provided anything to back it up. This kind of loaded language only enhances my angle that tribalisms gonna tribe.

I don't agree with some of Musk's thinking and ideas but he is far from being antisemitic and that was certainly not a Nazi arm gesture. Media and certain groups need to stop with these absurdities. As for Apple doing biz with X, certainly makes sense.

That's amazing, because the real Nazis and pro-Hamas antisemites were defeated in November. View attachment 2477411

Thank god Nazi fascists were defeated.

How about show the videos of those moments that are taken out of context in *pictures*. These are absolutely false equivalence. What Musk did during the inauguration was **clearly** a Nazi solute, TWICE.

as some one else said, one group's (idiotic) opinion that it wasn't, doesn't make it so.

--------

As for apple advertising on Twitter, I personally don't use it all that much anymore so meh, but if it gets people to buy more apple stuff, sounds good to me I guess. Not that I agree, but Apple is a business after all.
