I'm officially giving up on my reliance on itunes I think. Way too messy. Once I fix my library i'm going to try moving everything over to Plex. Is Plex the best thing for a large music library like mine? I have no idea. I'm just fed up with itunes and itunes match and all of that.

For me it went back to matching properly once I let my trial subscription expire and I turned off the Apple Music option.

I don't think I'll try again. 4 months without being able to sync my music was enough.

I no longer have iCloud Music (AKA ITM) only have Apple Music doing the matching and trust it is the same for some reason Apple Music matching gets the wrong album cover and the worse part is it gives each track a separate album cover so once you remove it the other album cover appears from one of the tracks on the album. Deleting the Album cover does not do **** it will just come back with same problem and some it will not allow to delete it.

iCloud Music in Apple Music really need more space to many albums to add and listen Apple Music also needs to work with other Music Labels like Global Underground, Cafe Del Mar and Ministry of Sound. Also they need to stop labels greying out the sing mix tracks such as from Armada label I don't add to A State of Trance to listen separate tracks I listen to Armin Van Burren mix.

Another problem with Apple Music the searching for a Album, Artist, Genre or Music is pathetic the limited results when typing a specific genre is painful seeing only few showing up I can not always remember the exact album name and even if I did it does not show up until I just type the artist name.

One last problem on Apple Music Store wtf with the big album covers make it more like the ones in iTunes store I am not blind and makes it laggy and ugly.

It has been so long since this problem has been around (it goes back to iTunes Match) that I have zero hope that it will ever work the way I want. You can't even do playlists that reference other playlists.

I swear, the only people who it works for must have only purchased music from iTunes, and definitely no live albums. It's a catastrophe. It's a bummer, because I would use it.

Even some of my iTunes purchased are messed up. LMAO.

I suffered from the ITM/AM launch where it scrambled my entire iTunes music library. Essentially all of the music tags were corrupted and playing a song would play another song in my library.

I've since recovered my library and not switched on iCloud Music Library in iTunes, which is the advice this forum gave out a couple of months ago. Have things changed?

My iPhone now has the scrambled iCloud music library on it. Is there a way to wipe my iCloud Music Library and start afresh?

I really want to continue using Apple Music, but I'm so terrified about how it plays with my bespoke, non-mainstream digital music collection (amassed over the last 13 years!). I want to be able to access all of my iTunes playlists on my phone. How are you users surviving with a personal iTunes collection, and using AM? I feel like my old use of Spotify worked so much better as it was distinct to my personal collection.

Don't use Apple music is the only solution i can see since no matter what Apple says, now, they won't fix it...

I only don't experience any issues because i do not have my own music... everything i've added to playlist is Apple music own catalog..

So any idea how to wipe the iCloud music Library? I will need to have my iTunes playlists and perhaps revert back to Spotify.

if u want to wipe icloud library, enable it, then sort by "cloud" icon select those, and delete

Make sure u have local copies on your Mac. but if they are duplicates in the cloud, then these would be easy to spot.

Hope u have a backup, just in case.

I'm trying to figure out what to do, and I'm at a loss. I have a family plan, and I have iTunes Match. Right now, my library on my main computer is fine. But I want to be able to save music and playlists from AM. To do that, I have to turn on iCloud Music Library. Sounds like that creates the mess. I can add music and playlists on my phone/iPad, so in all other respects, AM is great and I love it. But I'm afraid turning on iCloud Music Library on my Mac will destroy my library.

Any advice or suggestions? Should I leave well enough alone and not mess with my main library? Or has anyone found a way to make it work? I may just try it, and if it screws it up, turn it off, delete my entire library folder, then copy it back from a clone backup. Just not sure I want to go through all that effort.

Yup, definitely back it up. The more rare tracks you have in your library, the more at risk you are. My friend had all his live recordings replaced with studio versions, for example. But there have been some (like, three) people here who didn't have any problems.

Good luck and keep us posted – I'd like to try it out but I have a lot of rare remixes, live recordings, alternate takes, etc.

Well, so far so good. I turned it on, and I think everything is fine. I have one band in particular with a lot of live and rare tracks, and they're all intact. I do have a bunch of m4a files on a few bands. They show as 'matched' so maybe I got newer versions? That might actually have happened back when I first signed up with iTunes Match. I don't know, however, how to tell if they're DRM files (they shouldn't be, since I've always owned them). But so far, at least, my library isn't a mess.

Edit: Those files were m4a before, so I'm probably good.
