Very subjective, and my personal list is very different, but, whatever… we are all different and this list is nothing to get hung up on

I just did that (listened to Lauryn Hill, someone I've never heard of before, thank god).

What an atrocious insult to ears and auditory cortex.
I've never heard it either but am going to give it a listen. Wikipedia says it's a neo soul/R&B/hip hop album. Do you like music from such genres?

You continue to conflate, misrepresent, misunderstand and conject. If you care, which you should since your confidence appears inflated, I suggest you taking a step back and re-assess.

I haven’t done any of that. It’s just that your argument doesn’t hold up. There’s no need to re-assess since you’re just flat out wrong. Art criticism is subjective. It isn’t possible to make an objective top 100 albums list. There is no such thing and can never be.

Maybe I'm old, but does no one sit around with their friends and debate 'best of X' anymore? That's what these lists are, but at scale. It's fun to hear their reasoning, and just maybe discover or rediscover some great music. I already knew nearly all the albums, but enjoy hearing the reasoning from the list makers. I'll add it to my list of reasons the next time I debate best X with my friends.

Bummed there was no Foo Fighters, but that's why these lists are fun.

Cue the boomers in this thread whining that their terrible taste in music wasn't represented lol
That's pretty funny. Prediction, wait till you're older and the lists come out in the future with Best Albums. of all time, and 2 of your classics are on it. The rest you're gonna see as pandering baloney: "Woopy Woopy by Imz2Cool" , "BoobalBooblaBee by W", "Lil' Dookie's "Smell my legs". You gonna have the same feeling we do. Modern lists always pander. The gen after you and the next one gonna make fun of you hard cause that's how it works. Just like we made fun of our parents. :) You only IT right now cause you're who ads are targeting. When your group ages out they'll be blaming you to pander to the next younger group. LOL.

No we won’t because like more sensible boomers, we will realize that times evolve and change.

How unfortunate because Beyoncé makes great music.

Ppl only see single ladies or run the world or formation or get me bodied (which are fun songs to dance and party to)

But don’t realize songs like
Freedom, love on top, haunted, pretty hurts, halo, resentment, america has a problem and the wnfirety of her new album cowboy Carter.
Love on Top & Power are really good songs.

I just don't respect her at all personally.

Occasionally I do. But that album certainly doesn't even belong into the top 100.
Have recommendations for some good R&B/hip hop albums? Otherwise, I assume when you say 'occasionally' you basically mean never, at which point your analysis of the album is much less relevant if you've already written off the genre as a whole.

FYI, it was #10 on Rolling Stones 500 best albums of all time. Might want to expand your perspective a bit.

Also won album of the year when it came out. I’m not the biggest fan of the album but it was extremely popular.

I’m not a fan of this list, the Rolling Stone 500 list is much better imo. No Led Zeppelin or Sgt Pepper in the top ten?

Also not even remotely close to being a boomer.

I understand that Swervedriver and My Bloody Valentine may not be that well known, but:

How can this list (top 100) not contain any Prodigy album?

best albums
lol best at what?
Very few of those will be listened to a few generations from now. Yet centuries from now everyone who learns to play an instrument and write a song will still inevitably listen to the handful of artists not on that list who both originated entire styles and mastered the form at once with very little technology. Everyone in music eventually traces whatever new thing they're into back to the source, and those sources are what last through the great filter.

Unfortunately no, I've merely got a playlist for hip hop songs I like (which aren't many, though Beyonce, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj have several entries). Maybe the first Iggy Azalea album ('Ignorant Art'), but you won't find that one on Apple Music.

Where's Wesley Willis?

Rock and Roll McDonalds, Alanis Morrisette, and Fabian Road Warrior must be acknowledged.

Oh well, I can stream them anytime.

Carry on.
