Another Verizon fanboy that lives in lala land, where they wish to see Steve Job's RDF emitting, rainbow crapping unicorn that runs on Kool-Aid unveiling a Verizon iPhone.
Long story short, not happening.
Actually, my wife and daughter have iPhones. AT&T works great around here, their web management tools are excellent, customer service great. I have to use Verizon because the hospital where I work is wired for Verizon and it's the only carrier that will work in the building. I don't know about their customer service - I have people at work that worry about that for me. So far I'm on my third Blackberry Curve, and that after dumping my original Storm. Our IT department handles the whole Verizon thing, so if/when I have a problem IT comes and fixes it right now or just replaces the phone. I have no love of Verizon at all. My cell phone is just a tool. I do note that my wife's 3G on her iPhone outperforms my Verizon 1x/EVDO by a significant margin. I never get dropped calls, but neither does my wife. I have no problem with AT&T - in fact just the opposite.
I'd get an AT&T iPhone if it would work for me, or I'd get a Verizon iPhone if it were available and weren't too crippled by them...but I'm hoping that my iPad, when it arrives, will take care of my data needs (building has wifi) and I can continue to get by just fine with my clunky Blackberry. I guess I could get a Droid, but I'm going to wait to see how the magical the iPad is.
So, I'm not pushing Verizon as superior to AT&T at all. In fact, in this area AT&T is better IMHO. But Apple bringing out a CDMA phone for Verizon is such an obvious business move and makes so much sense that I'm surprised you don't see it as inevitable. I suspect you're blinded by your hate for Verizon, for whatever reason.
Why is that, anyway? Why do you care so passionately that Apple
not go with Verizon? How does that cause you a problem?
Anyway, your argument, eloquent as it is, isn't persuasive. I'm sticking with the Wall Street Journal on this one and expecting a CDMA iPhone this fall.
