Yep.

Source: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...dman-card-test-to-thousands-of-retail-workers

I quote... "The credit card is scheduled to launch first in the U.S. in the next few months, but Apple has began discussing an expansion into Europe with financial regulators, a person familiar with the talks said." A while back Goldman Group CEO Gnodde said on CNBC, that they wanted to expand their retail bank 'Marcus' to Germany next (after a successful launch in the UK) and that Apple Card will be coming to European markets "soon".

That are just rumors. I can't see any real confirmation that it will come to Germany at all.
Even if Goldman wants it, they can't do it without Apple, and we know Apple Pay took ages to arrive here, despite technically everything was ready since years.

There are several sources, I don't have time to collect them all. Apple wants Apple Card expanded and so does Goldman Sachs. It wouldn't make sense to restrict it to US only.

Apple Pay and Apple Card / Cash are two different things. Apple and Goldman can push this through much quicker as they don't need to rely on any other partners. Bloomberg, CNN, CNBC etc. are all credible sources.

Today I used Apple Pay for the first time. I have to say that it felt great to be able to do that and I am angry that we had to wait so long (I have a DKB Visa card). I hope that Apple Pay will expand to every single possible place.

It could be. However it still are just rumors. And moving to Europe may not be that easy, as credit cards are used and regulated differently here, e.g. the high percentage of cashback is just not possible here, so they can't move the product 1:1 to EU.

Tell that to LBB / Amazon. 0,5% on all purchases and 3% cashback via Amazon.de ... Without knowing how Apple and Goldman Sachs will be able to run the business: 0,5% on all general purchases made via Apple Pay and 2/3% on Apple stuff (subscriptions and purchases) should be possible. The only thing that is specifically regulated is the interchange fee. But that won't hinder the expansion of Apple Card in any way, just the amount of "daily cash".

And it's not just general rumours: I think it was Jennifer Bailey who was interviewed about this and confirmed that Apple wants to bring this card to more places - specifically Europe. Let's just leave it at that.

On the go, but just quickly found this... https://www.businessinsider.com/app...ational-expansion-after-us-launch-2019-6?IR=T

That Apple is serious about this can be seen in the recent push for Apple Pay. For years hardly anything happened. We know have nearly the entire continent covered with Apple Pay countries (or confirmed as coming soon). And against all the negativity, the big banks are mainly aboard the Apple Pay train and have recently joined: BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, ING, Credit Agricole and so many more important local / regional banks.

Nonetheless it's just rumors. No real confirmation, and nothing about any time frames. That's all I wanted to say.
We'll see what the future brings.

For the DKB card. I believe when you temporary disable the card it will be deleted from Apple Pay wallet. Happens like this with Revolut. Not tested it with dkb.

Well they don’t get completely removed as in you have to add them to the Wallet again. You just get this little notification after disabling and reenabling the card again.

How could this be? More then 2 months old transaction and still "pending" in the Wallet...

Sadly that's normal. For my range of cards sometimes pending switches to "completed", but not always. It's not a reliable feature. Best is just to check your Fidor app. So nothing out of the ordinary here...

It’s only an issue with Mastercard and Maestro cards. My Visa cards all show approved.

oh yeah. good news. and if you read the replies between the lines they seem to support girocard in AP, but not before october.
So launch in october directly with girocard, or earlier launch with MasterCard/Visa and adding girocard later?

I rather would suspect a launch in october with girocard.

They will start without Girocard.

And no Debit card at all? Not even a virtual maestro or MC? That's ... very disappointing, especially after all this time.

We spent some days in Italy and I paid lightning fast with Apple Pay, via boon, in a restaurant. At first the waiter did not understand 100% what I wanted to do/use. I speak and understand Italian fairly good since I´m 50% Italian. Than he said: "POS wireless?" and I simply replied: "Esatto! " Got my watch ready. He typed the amount on the wireless POS... I approached my watch… Done! BTW they accept MC/VISA and Amex.

I would love to see wireless POS everywhere.

Sparkasse new conditions for digital cards (right now in my mailbox):

Bedingungen für digitale Karten
Sehr geehrter Herr XXX,

And Handelsblatt wrote an article about it:

https://www.handelsblatt.com/finanz...unterstuetzung-der-girocard-ein/24495510.html

A few minutes before, the article was without paywall. Now it seems that it cannot read without paying o_O

There was written that Apple Pay chief Jennifer Bailey also confirmed that there will be some changes need from the girocard consortium and also on apple side before they can offer girocard support.

And they also confirmed that the Apple Watch fulfill the 2 factor security with the stronger payment regulation in Europe. Some "experts" were critical before about that second factor related to Apple Watch but the EU confirmed that the pulse-monitoring is valid as second factor with as sufficient as TouchID/FaceID! So no restrictions on that side :)

Hmm. Nothing new in Handelsblatt. And the decision about AW/SCA seems to be rather new. Discussion about this topic ran about 9 months

This is rather disappointing for Sparkassen customers and in the end also for Sparkassen theirselves. All this "hick hack" and embarrassing behaviour of Sparkasse just for Apple Pay one year later with Visa/Mc and without Girocard, what a bummer. The first movers did this in Dec. 18
