More features for their website?

They become a normal standard „Direktbank“ as they realize most people don’t want to do everything in a smartphone app but on a powerful website or a desktop application.

If they want to grow, they have to change. „app bank“ is not enough.

I have to say I am more and more dissapointed with N26. I've been a customer ever since they launch back a few years ago. And they made huge promises but did not deliver anything new lately. You still can only have one account. If you decide to close your account you will never ever be able to open a new account again (at least thats the procedure right now). There is still no way to have a partner account or a way to share/connect your account with your partners. No real savings account even though they promised this will come about two years ago. No instant payments. Even Sparkasse launched instant payments now. Why does N26 not offer something like this? They want to be a modern bank. The modern bank. And yet they are still so far behind ... These are all things that N26 said they are working on but did not deliver. And with the reskin of the website. Like seriously... the website before was much much better. You have even less to do then before. Before you had at least access to some statistics. Now they removed it completly. Especially if you compeare N26 to banks like bunq ... I dont think you can compare those too. I am willing to pay money for a good bank service but N26 has not really much going for them. They focus too much on growing instead of being different to other banks. Thats what they wanted to be in the first place but now they are becoming more and more a normal bank themselves. I am still gonna keep my account but still I am not a very pleased customer.

Oh and about the announcment more to come down the road... they were promising a huge update in April but not a single new feature went online. So dont believe what they say.

BTW. If you cancel a DKB account, I heard you will never get one again, too.
Because of that, I left my n26 untouched and removed all money from the account, so it "sleeps".
DKB is still my main account and beside a maybe rusty interface, they work great and give me good opportunities for savings, stocks, Creditcards, account together with my wife (which is even integrated nicely for me, as I see both with one login!).
And with DKB giving back the foreign use 1,75% saved me already a lot of money (at least 100€ due my America and Thailand trips)

They don't offer anything that other banks don't have. In fact, they offer less to the customer. They live from the social media hype in the last years and a shiny smartphone app. Nothing more, nothing less.

If you just need a bank giro account for your earnings and every day shopping, it's fine. One of many low service virtual banks.

Had a DKB Account for years and was very pleased. Except one thing: back then they only offered TAN-lists. No HBCI, no chipTAN, no pushTAN, ... it was absurd.

Than I tried Postbank for different reasons and really started to HATE a bank... still getting angry and mad about them if I just think about this Sauhaufen (sorry).

Don’t you guys want to open a thread to talk about fintechs? This thread is becoming 95% NOT about Apple Pay in Germany
As there is no Apple Pay in Germany, this thread would be rather dead without some offtopic chat ;)

I always typed them into Keepass, so I never had a problem with iTan, in my eyes it was secure as I used it.

For n26: I really did not like, that they had only Phone based banking. In my eyes the way the security works (no Tan System) is not really secure and I believe was handled on one of the CCC Conventions, but somehow fixed by them. I would never make them my main bank. To instabile in my eyes.

It could be a good thing for Germany too. Maybe well hear in the next earnings call, that Austria, Germany and the Netherlands will get Apple Pay. Who knows? :)

So some offtopic this is not about the topic so just skip this if you are not interessted. In order to read the text just mark it up with your mouse.

Since we are all already waiting for Apple Pay for many years and maybe have to wait for many more years still I would love to spice up things a little bit and invite you guys to take part in the Apple Pay Bingo! I guess everyone knows how Bingo plays out but to make a short explanation: You need to get in this special Bingo four hits in a row or diagonal to win the game. Everyone gets his own personal Bingo card which is going to be marked with its name. Everytime Apple announces a new country you can check your card and if you get a hit you mark it up. The one whos getting four in a row or diagonal first wins. The winner is going to get price of his or her choice which will be announced later on down the road. For all people that are interessted in taking part in this bingo (which actually may take a couple of years to finsih) just pm me and you'll receive your very own bingo card.

I've been doing this with some people on reddit and it was a success so I thought lets give it another try here. I attached a picture with a sample of what the bingo card looks like. Everyone who wants to take part is going to get his personal card so just let me know and I'll sent you your very own card in a private message.

Does anyone here have experience with a KBC Debit card and could maybe share some screenshots of the card and app (or even via PN)?

How do you use it? Can you only transfer via IBAN or top-up via another card?

There have been recent lockdowns once again with different Apple Pay solutions (N26 / bunq / boon?) and I want to make sure I have at least one € account with Apple Pay enabled remaining...

I will not post a link to the site that originally contained the instructions on how to get around restrictions in May/June, but it's recently been tightened so that you need to try to trick the bunq app into seeing your GPS location in either Italy or Spain - and that's a damn pain to do. It is obvious that they are aware of the fact many are setting up bunq with Apple Pay and not being in any of the supported countries. Who knows, bunq might cancel the cards / accounts altogether at some point (soon)?

ah okay, I thought they were locking down existing accounts (I got one during the very brief time it was possible with Dutch accounts, they said those won't be touched, but well, things change). Go on holiday in Italy or Spain and set it up there ;).
