Ironically, the reason why the MacBook 12” only has one port is due to keeping the headphone port.
YET, after ALL that bluster from the man ... the "new" iMac Pro comes with a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Guess how pooular those LG phones were. Give you a hint not very. There are adapters for sad-cards for iPhones too. But i thought you hate adapters. I can use listen to music through headphones while charging. Again adapters and wireless pads are in for a reason. They needed the extra space for haptic and a bigger battery. Why did LG remove he jack for the G5, HTC, Motorola and Google? Sony and Samsung need it to upsell their wired headphones. Having a battery that overly drains and shuts the power off for no reason is better than actually slowing it down. You do know there’s an actual shelf life for the battery. The battery performance had nothing to do with the size of the battery. The iPhone is also the only Apple device that has an actual room issue. This is 2 years too late. Anyway. Enjoy your phone and I’ll enjoy mine. Don’t expect Apple to change anything or enough people that actually give as much as you do about it.
YET NONE of the newest vintage of iPhone (8, 8+ or X) do ... what's your point?
Y'all may as well be peeing into the wind.
I just give you a heads up. iOS 11.3.1 allows user to upload 96kHz/32bit songs to the iPhone, starting from A9 devices. I have tested it and it works.because the iPhone can only decode up to a maximum 48KHz 24-bit. Can't handle anything higher than that.

I would say Apple Wants to push their own chips and own Bluetooth implementations for the most part. They can support hires music with their own Wx chip, and fall back to SBC for everyone else.Cool. Just tried and it does indeed work. Thanks for the head-up!
But it just makes the fact that you can't transmit 96KHz over wireless yet even that much jarring. I'm not going to name-drop other systems anymore but Apple is still 2 generations behind here. Even 96KHz support is coming 2 years too late.
It's puzzling why they would support 96KHz despite there being literally only one way to transmit that quality to a headphone or speaker(s), and they have announced they wanted to move away from that.
Arguing why Apple deleted the 3.5 jack doesn’t change the past, either you accept it or move on to another device that supports it. Venting will eventually be futile, as it doesn’t change what the past. We all have Choices.
This is absolutely hilarious. You have the gall to say this and then tell me that you have “technical proof” later in the post (likely regarding some nonsense that only audiophiles actually care about) to prove to me that wireless audio is not in fact good enough today for most consumers…despite the fact that people are buying wireless headphones left and right, and by and large they’re satisfied. As someone else wrote already, none of those are actually the reason 1. Uh... no. They could have improved haptic feedback by working around this. Like you said, the battery is slightly bigger, but they could have kept the battery the same size and slightly reduced performance (like... 5%?) to account for battery life
Considering you do not have any idea what you're talking about with regards to audio file compression, I can tell you have not done your research into anything else that you do not like, either. So I don't think you're very qualified to say how the LG phones are doing. I'd say just this: look outside the U.S. market and you'll see.
And yes, I do hate adapters. I'm just pointing out there are adapters for certain things (meaning Apple recognizes the importance of those things), not that I enjoy using them. Again, there's a difference and you're still jumping to the false conclusions from your meaningless assumptions. Please learn how to read at least.
I stated exactly why Android devices are able to remove the jack and somewhat get away with it. You're again ignoring that fact. Again, it's simple: Android is 2 generations ahead of Apple in Bluetooth codec support, so some phones do not need the jack at all.
Some other phones that still have the jack obviously come from engineers who know what they need to do for the best user experience, as Apple also does when it comes to the Macs and iPads. Need I remind you once again that the iPhone is the only device Apple makes that does not have the headphone jack?
Battery performance has nothing to do with the size? Uh... okay. Seriously, at that point, I'll be polite and point you toward the closest physics textbook.
And yeah, I'm not saying you should enjoy your phone less. I'm only pointing out the FACT that if you think it comes with the latest and greatest, then you are gravely MISTAKEN.
The iPhone is the only device Apple is selling that does not have the headphone jack. So what's YOUR point?
In a parallel universe maybe but not in this one.Apple will reverse the headphone jack decision.
In a parallel universe maybe but not in this one.
Sales will continue to stagnate and fall below expectations. Eventually the decision to re-add the headphone jack to see the effect on sales will be made.

As much as I miss the headphone jack, I'm not sure what issues with sales are there given that Apple is continuing to break various records with their earnings reports.Sales will still continue to stagnate. Only when Apple reintroduces bezels and the home button will the sales rebound.

Have you been paying attention to the Quarterly reports for revenue and profit? {Rhetorical} Not sure why you would say something like this based off your dismay that they deleted the 3.5 mm Jack. Apple has been absolutely successful in many different avenues and facets within this company, and it’s clearly showing.
The reason you’re saying this in the above quote is because you know it’s not True, for some reason you envision a false projection of what will happen, when in reality, it will not.

I thought getting rid of the jack was shortsighted and was one of the reasons I opted for a 6S rather than a 7 last time around. However Apple are not a company that reverses a poor decision and I don’t expect to see it again on an iPhone. Shame.Oh yeah? Then why have they discontinued the X model, the only iteration to be canned after 1 cycle, other than the 5C, to make way for a “cheaper” X model?
The expectation is that a cheaper model will sell better, causing people to want to upgrade more, since they didn’t see that with the X.
The realization will come when that model also falls short of expectations. Only then will they begin to see that people are holding off on upgrading because they don’t want to lose their headphone jack, and are considering alternative companies. You will see.

Apple haven’t discontinued the X. It’s still. on sale and rumours suggest that it’s good to be replaced by an upgraded X in September. There are going to be 3 models realessed. A 5.8 inch upgraded version of the current X, a 6.1 inch LCD model with a bezeless display and made from aluminium and a 6.5 inch inch model (X plus) exactly like the current x but bigger.Oh yeah? Their earnings were high only because of the price of the device. By all other accounts the X release was lackluster, no matter how Tim tries to spin it by saying things like “it’s been the best-selling smartphone each quarter” and yadda yadda whatever other spin on statistics he gave it.
The user upgrade cycles weren’t there. NEW Apple users bought the X, but not in a percentile range of upgraders that they would have liked to see.
Apple thinks it’s because of price (see: plans to produce cheaper X knockoff). I say it’s because of the headphone jack.
They will get further data suggesting that point once they release the SE2 without a headphone jack and it sells nowhere near as well as the original iteration. Apple will return to a headphone jack within 2-3 years.

Funny, but as you already know, a home button or bezels in no way effect true convenience of use or involve dongles and extra money spent. Apple needs to branch out into developing nations, eventually they will saturate other markets. They want to hit India and others. The most populated country on earth. Headphone jack is still an industry standard and it’s going to ultimately effect market share. Biggest mistake Apple has made of the past 5 years, easily, IMO.
