Hello,

I recently was invited to attend a hiring seminar from a Portland, Oregon store. The seminar was tonight, at 7:15pm. I walked down to the mall (about a 20 minute walk- in the rain) and discovered that all mall entrances were closed (mall closes at 6pm). I found one that wasn't (which was open for the movie theaters) and entered. I asked a security guard about getting to the other side of the mall for a seminar that I had at apple. He radioed in asking about said seminar, they radioed back that it was canceled.

Why wouldn't the send an email, or call me, to let me know it was canceled. I was pretty upset seeing as how I walked down in the rain. How inconsiderate.

are they recruiting now?

I have been literally stalking the recruiters (not cool, I know!) Hilary Morran was extremely nice - somehow managed to reply to most of my messages... atleast kept in touch. She apparently left though. I'm yet to contact the new recruiter Nicki Boore...
.

What should I include in the online cv?

Hilary hasn't left, I have e-mailed and got replies very recently. Just sell yourself in CV and write about you. If you are what they want, they will give you an interview, if you are not then they won't. It's simple and just like any other job. Also, if you don't get anything, don't be disheartened. Apple received hundreds of applications for a handful of jobs so a lot more fail than succeed. Just a couple of my thoughts for you....

thats the thing i know i'd do better tech+sale wise .... I mean in the whole regent street apple there wasnt a single person who could tell me anything about xcode or app development! anywho..... seeing all that, and then seeing how I am not getting a reply it kinda makes me feel like may be I'm not writing the correct stuff.

help?

Hmm, im not sure really. I get the impression Apple mainly hires those with good charisma and communication as enough technical skill can be taught to help them sell albeit not quite xcode level. I would recommend trying to mix your apple skills and love of apple products with any retail experience you may have? If not retail, then any customer service sort of job etc. They need a wide variety of skills and proof of good communication.

:) I guess. The first time I posted for job interview I pretty much got back response within 2 days. Then got into a seminar.. and well.. then didn't get in. Thats back in sep 08! Since then not a single reply...

YET, somehow, I'm still hanging on there. if that doesnt prove 'love' for apple then I'm not sure what does actually.

same question, in california

Hey ya'll.

I have the same question and noticed most of the answers were probably d/m due to apples emloyee 'rules'. I'm super qualified: an experience mac user, a degree in a computer science related field, retail experience, responsible, charming, etc... but I am still nervous. Any more advice to give?

BTW respond quick pls.. my interview is today. :D

Just got invited to the seminar for the new Apple Store in Cardiff, UK. It says in the email that they are looking for people for the following roles.

• Concierge
• Specialist
• Operations Specialists

Anyone know what an Operations Specialist does? I can't find info on the job role at Apple's job website.

I am going on the 10th as well.... It is for the specialist / concierge positions.. Does anyone know if you will be able to specifically choose which you want to interview for or are they basically going to hire you for whichever they feel you fit in..

and the dress code seems really picky.. no jeans, tennis shoes, no suit attire.. so something in between... I have no idea what shoes to wear for business casual.. (im a girl)...
