They keep coming out with new colors, but I really wish Apple would just drop the price of their Sport Apple watch bands. It's ridiculous what they charge compared 3rd party watch bands that are are nearly the same quality and about 80% less the cost.

Got my Spicy Orange band today!!! I was surprised to see when I checked that it was already available in local Apple retail stores. I promptly purchased and reserved online for pickup at a store. I also got the Series 3 Apple Watch Space Black, and put the new Spicy Orange sports band on the Series 0 first-generation Watch and my beloved link band on the new watch. The Spicy Orange is bright! It's pretty, too..... I don't have a way of comparing it with the Hermes Orange sports band so can't help in that regard, but I am curious, too, as to how similar or dissimilar the two might be. So far very happy with the Series 3 watch!

Can you please post some pics?

Here’s my Hermès orange for comparison

OK, but I don't have a lot of time right now.....will do it tomorrow! Even at that, though, photos are not necessarily going to be totally representative because they are dependent upon the lighting conditions under which the image was shot.

I get ya. I might pop into an Apple store and see if they have it on display so I can compare the two

That would be the best way, although lighting in the Apple store isn't ideal, either! Most stores should have the new bands in stock, and probably by now out on the floor on display. When I arrived to pick up mine, they hadn't yet unpacked them and brought them out from the back room.

What flueroastamer actually is:

Fluoroelastomer comes from the two words "fluorinated" and "elastomer". Fluoroelastomers are famous for their durability resistance to heat, oils, solvents and fuels. They are often used for fuel-distribution systems or for high-quality lab gloves. It is not a material that will stretch out easily, get damaged by extreme heats, or get deformed by being excessively sweat on. It is also much less prone to induce any allergic reactions than, for example, latex. The Apple Sport bands are ideal for all conditions.

The third party silicone ones match the appearance of the genuine ones almost flawlessly, but they feel much cheaper and they do attract a lot of lint. The third party silicone bands are thinner, not the same material as flueroastamer. However, they no where have the quality of Apples Sport bands.
Spot on. It isn't just semantics. Fluoroelastomer and silicone are different materials, with the former being a higher quality, more durable and more expensive product. While the other poster is correct that Fluoroelastomer is not proprietary, the lower cost bands found on Amazon, etc., tend to be a cheaper silicone "look alike" that lacks the quality and durability of Fluoroelastomer.
Some info using a mid-grade flueroastamer from Mosites Rubber Company.

Silicone:
Hardness (Shore A) 22
Tensile Strength (psi) 190
Elongation at Break (%) 175%
Modulus at 100% Elongation (psi) 90
Tear Strength- Die C (ppi) 38
Fluoroelastomer:
Hardness (Shore A) 76
Tensile Strength (psi) 1760
Elongation at Break (%) 284%
Modulus at 100% Elongation (psi) 774
Tear Strength (ppi) 124

True mine looks somewhat darker based on my lighting.

I had some time this morning to fool around with trying to get reasonably accurate color....as I mentioned before, in different lighting the orange tends to look either brighter, lighter or darker. I think it sometimes has a bit of a pinkish cast, which may be different from the Hermes, which (at least in photos) looks really orange through-and-through. This is Apple's new Spicy Orange Sports Band.

Shot these images with iPhone X in natural light:

Wow, that's very close.... can't tell if it's the Hermes Orange or Spicy Orange!

Forgot to mention my band is the Hermès sport.

Sorry, should have specified in my post -- it is the Spicy Orange Apple sports band on the Series 0 (first-generation) Apple Watch Stainless Steel Space Black. I think the Spicy Orange has a bit of a pinkish cast to it in some lighting. I'd love to see an Hermes Orange Sports band in person, as I suspect it is seriously orange all the way.....just like their beautiful boxes.

My Space Black link band is on my new series 3 Apple Watch.

I like that the new Dark Teal watch band matches closely to the Cosmos Blue leather iPhone case. I just may get one to rock that stylish coordinated look.

Love the orange!

Sigh. My stupid Watch 0 still functions perfectly and my original white sport band still looks like new. Meanwhile I want a Series 3 LTE and an orange band.

Also loving that orange band. Hope I get one before Apple discontinues it as they've done before.

Also seriously hoping that my Series 0 holds out till LTE version is available in my country. It's working well so far...

OK, you are wrong...but don' worry about it...enjoy life and your smugness.
My "smugness" is based on the fact that i work with elastomers as part of my work and unlike you guys, I know what I am talking about.
