Bluetooth A2DP

Sorry to see no mention of better support for Bluetooth A2DP controls. Anyone tested this?

O2 UK Tethering

Hi,

Update my iPhone 3G 16GB. Tethering option was still there. I turned it on and attempted to connect from iMac. Failure message appeared after having to pair the devices. Tethering option then disappeared from iPhone.

Restarted iPhone..... no tethering option.

I was 99% sure this was going to happen. I got a text from O2 LAST Wednesday telling me about a new OS update for iPhone... important features blah blah blah.

I don't use tethering. Not bothered!

Is it there now? Please say yes. I've been waiting on it before I buy the Motorola S9-HD headset.

Stereo Bluetooth has been out since OS 3.0 release, but it lacks the capability of changing tracks from the headphones. Works fine for music, play/pause, answer/end calls, just no skip tracks. Stupid, I hope 3.1.1 fixes it.

Does anyone think the screen looks ' different ' . It may just be my lighting, but the screen seems a little brighter... or more blue.

How do I get the ringtones mentioned ?

Don't you start that again

interesting, was hoping for some better fixes/updates but I guess I can't complain too much.

Hmm, I wonder what happened to 3.1.0?

Also an FYI, OS 3.1b3 suddenly has the new features (genius etc.) so it would appear the functionality was there, but hidden.

OMG! does it really lower the speaker! if so ill be pissed!

I want to know this too....this was the WORST bug of the original iPhone and MEGA FAIL from all angles. If it is as quiet as the original iPhone, it will but useless to me.

Nothing useful

I want:

- YouTube with decent quality on 3G cellular, I have about 2-3 Mbit/s effective download rate both on Wi-Fi and 3G cellular, why do I get lousy quality on 3G when I have the bandwidth?
- Removal of other 3G cellular restrictions to allow Skype calls etc.
- Possibility to run at least music apps like Spotify in the background
- Correction of the problem with third-party apps that stops working, solved by new app download
- Removal of the bug that stops execution for a second or more (no response) in any app now and then
- Display of accumulated cellular download in the status bar
- Display of turbo-3G as 3.5G or similar in the status bar
- Possiblity to change rotation of the screen when the keyboard is displayed
- Addition of a "go to end of page" in Safari (had to add a bookmark with javascript to get this)
- More home screens
- Naming of home screens
- Removal of 2GB restriction per app, let the user decide this

does it mean that crack apps will not work anymore? and what about cydia and cydia apps? Cause it has some genius features.

Lol, no they won't work until you rejailbreak your iPhone and download the hack file thingy in Cydia.

Can somebody explain to me, the meaning behind the "Safari seems snappier" thing???

Every time there's a new OS update, somebody always says this.

What does it mean??? I mean, I know what it MEANS (faster, duh...) but is it real or just a joke???

Welcome to MacRumors. :D
And yes, Safari is snappier... always is. ;):p

Updated to iTunes 9 and iPhone OS 3.1. iPhone continues to work great on 'FI elisa' with MMS and tethering. :)

It's a running gag that with every software update (doesn't matter what it's for) somebody always commented that Safari was snappier.

I think fishballer is using what we call al little sarcasim...people always seem to say these 2 things after an OS update, usuaually there is not a real difference.
