Does the Sequoia 15.3 update address the issue of Spotlight search not finding certain folders and documents?
Genmoji is one of those things that you use a few times, find it a little cute, then forget about it later.
Anecdotally, mine (M4 Max) was disabled in 15.2 and enabled itself during the 15.3 log-in process, where it asked me to log into icloud and I complied. Disabling it was easy enough and all of my other privacy settings seem to have stuck which is good, but it should still have a “set up later” button at minimum.I just did the update on my M1Max MacStudio, and unlike the warning in a story from last week that Apple Intelligence would be automatically turned on - it is still off. I did turn it off in 15.2, so happy about that
It doesn't remove the software, or the Apple Intelligence models. There's an off switch in Settings for both Mac and iPhone
Unless I’m mistaken, it was already there -starting in 18.1.It doesn't remove the software, or the Apple Intelligence models.
Right. Thus it says OFF instead of REMOVE.It doesn't remove the software, or the Apple Intelligence models.
I'm not even inclined to start it once... the whole concept is so bizarre... it's just a glorified image generative AI riding on the name that doesn't have anything to do with the interop that actual emoji brings...Genmoji is one of those things that you use a few times, find it a little cute, then forget about it later.
yay, even more bloat... sometimes when I'm running out of space od my drive (as everything becomes more and more bloated) I'm noticing that there is so much space and memory wasted by darn pointless services... just the other day I saw hundreds of MBs of wallpapers... 🤦♂️It doesn't remove the software, or the Apple Intelligence models.
It was when I updated my MBA a few minutes ago. I just opened the "Apple Intelligence" panel in Settings and turned it off, took 5 seconds if that.Is Apple Intelligence enabled by default like on iOS 18.3?
Off does not mean deleted. Like Stickies and Podcasts, and Photo Booth and several other apps that clutter up Applications that I never use but are not deletable. AI reportedly uses 7 GB of Apple's famously stingy SSD capacity. I can find a better use for those 7 GB.There's an off switch in Settings for both Mac and iPhone
I just updated to 15.3 - took about 13 minutes. The PDF bug has been fixed as The Works of Edgar Allen Poe is now displaying correctly. Is the inverse color PDF bug in Preview fixed in 15.3?
Sounds a lot like Animoji when it first came out. Rinse and repeat.Genmoji is one of those things that you use a few times, find it a little cute, then forget about it later.
It is like going back to Ancient Egypt. I use the basic stuff that have been around for years, like the smiley and thumbs up and that is it. I have no interest in using other Emojis.People who aren't into Emoji are missing the clear benefit. As Genmoji proves itself over the next version or two, we won't need to have a keyboard with hundreds (thousands?) of Emoji and we won't have that semi-annual "new emoji release!" because emojis will be generated on the fly, based on the conversation and suited specifically to every need.
TLDR; the end of Emoji keyboard is nigh.
One of the reason I went from Windows as they were pushing all this AI and other rubbish onto people. it seems I went away from it on Windows just to get it on my Mac.I use at most around 10 different Emoji. I'm not into them so what is the clear benefit? I don't use a lot of the apps supplied with the OS such at News, Stickies, Stocks etc etc etc. My use case is probably very different from yours. vive la difference.
You are missing the point, Apple AI downloads a load of stuff when first initialised and even when turned off that code stays on the drive. Should have something that pops up, asking if people want it, not just assume. I fed up with companies assumingThere's an off switch in Settings for both Mac and iPhone

How i wish the software I use could be used on Linux.
I think you might be right with the models, but enabling it did always download a shed load more data. I don't think Image Playground installs until Apple Intelligence is enabled, but you don't get that option now. It's forced on you.Unless I’m mistaken, it was already there -starting in 18.1.
Setting up an external drive to serve as Time Machine back on my Intel NUC with Linux was so painful – every reboot = executing two scripts that sometimes needed to work in one order and sometimes other – that I ended up hackintoshing that NUC, that was easier. Now I have a Mac Mini. Every year I read about how Linux is just about to become very easy and user-friendly and every year it doesn’t happen.this is me! I'm getting more and more fedup with macOS, Apple and whole AI hype... at least with Linux I have some semblance of control and can simply ignore AI crap and don't install it... luckily when switching to Mac I made sure I use interoperable software and services to avoid being locked-in so switching to Linux will be rather painless...
I’ve read that on iOS it eventually removes itself? My free space went from 487 to 507 GB on update (!) so maybe that’s what happened? I don’t know where to look for it on the Mac and I am not switching it back on to see whether I lose that 20 GB again.I think you might be right with the models, but enabling it did always download a shed load more data. Just one observation, if your damn quick after upgrading and you head straight to settings and disable it it doesn't download the spammy junky apps.Hopefully it will remember my preference for future updates now.
You state the obvious and yet miss the point at the same time.Right. Thus it says OFF instead of REMOVE.
