My iPad Pro's pretty good as something to check Facebook, check email, etc. when I'm away from my iMac (a bit tough to tote that 20-pound monster around, as one might guess) and want a bigger screen than my iPhone.

There's a narrow market, but keep improving iOS on the iPad and it'll get there.

People keep wanting Xcode on the iPad. No. It would be an unmitigated disaster.

I have a 27" iMac running higher than native resolution and I still want more screen space for Xcode.

"What's a computer?"

There's no denying it's a computer, but is it a more useful computer than a regular desktop or laptop?

That can depend on the use cases, but for most people, the answer is no. Fundamentally, the iPad hasn't changed since it's debut in 2010. It has a long ways to go before it can truly replace laptops.

The interesting thing is the iPad hardware wise is capable of so much it could be a viable PC replacement, it's a shame the software is so lacking.

Hey Apple, Why don't you port over your pro software onto iOS to show the potential? Final cut, logic.. Instead of Pages and iMovie..

I wonder if at this point Apple is gonna start selling OS X for PCs?

The best possible result is probably to have Dells running OSX, because Apple clearly doesnt GAF about macs. The Mac lineup is embarrassingly bad at the moment.

Well.... I love the hardware design of macs, but I'm just about ready to move over to Linux Mint and if this is an indication of Apple's direction then they've made that decision easier. I already have Mint one of my desktops and I really like 18.

Because even the most powerful iPad wouldn't hold a candle to Logic Pro X running on a 2012 15" MacBook Pro with an SSD & 16GB RAM. Wouldn't even be close.
