Man all these comments are salty! It's almost like most of you feel that since you can't use iPad as your "computer", no one can!

I like the ad. It showcases the improvements the iPad Pro brought to the iPad line, for those that haven't been paying attention. I bet someone would see this ad (that is still using an iPad 2) and go, "Wow, maybe it's time for an upgrade." Pretty sure that's Mark Duplass doing the VO. Could be wrong though.

Apple CEO Tim Cook: Microsoft's Surface Tablet 'Confusing' and 'Compromised

"I haven't played with a Surface yet, but what we are reading about it is that it is a compromised and confusing product," Apple CEO Tim Cook said on the company's earnings call late this afternoon, which took place just hours after Microsoft's Windows 8 launch event. "One of the toughest things you do is make hard tradeoffs and decide what a product should be, and we've done that with the iPad."

As much as I'm not a fan of their OS, it is a) useful in a work environment and b) the Surface Pro 4 (with angled type cover - sorry the iPad loses there too) is a tablet that is a computer. Because it has a full blown OS (even if that OS sucks) and doesn't run limiting apps like an iPad. Sorry but M$ got that one right after a few generations.

A keyboard that gets out of the way... A screeen you can touch and even write on. Hmm, I cant think of any real computer that can do that

Sorry, on reflection my comment did come across as a bit smarmy. I didn't mean that as a direct jab at you or anybody else here.

It's just that with all this talk in this thread about Logic Pro, Final Cut – these Pro applications used by people for their livelihood, and used on the OS X platform for good reason – it's understandable that some people might take it a little personally when the latest Apple advert suggests an iPad is an appropriate laptop replacement.

Especially when considering the lack of updates; or at the very least, price dropping if there isn't newer hardware that they can justify putting in an updated Mac.

of course they won't quit the mac / macOS product line, i think the reason of the long wait, is that a redesign is on its way - and if they update them too close to that launch, no one will buy the new ones.

I think this will be the year of mac, now that the iPhone won't be that exciting.

For god sakes... Add an option to build up a custom developer environment (eg.: for web development), extend the god damn app store, and accept electron apps (atom.io is a really good editor - far better than Panic's Coda, and it's free), and let the VM industry do the rest of the work. I don't want to pay another service month to month just because i have to get my job done.

You can do this on a computer.

And before the flames starts, i want to use my iPad Pro that way. I really want.
