The problem here is the self importance. I assume OP is running an iPhone 5s or 6.. And i'm willing to bet they haven't spent much on Apples services... bottom line is Apple just isn't going to care if they loose OP as a customer... Maybe if OP was a cooperate client that spent on a significant level... but losing one because they refused to update? Frankly thats the type of customer Apple just isn't going to want to deal with any way.

Meh.. I’ve seen phones update automatically over night. Happened to a coworker. He didn’t accidentally click a button, didn’t get a nagging message etc. it updated on its own overnight according to him.
Don’t stand in the way of progress. Update your phone or switch to android.
nope. my 6 on 9.0.2 has more features than the X with the jailbreak

although I use my X as a daily. lol

Oh, sure, a nagging screen twice a week (yes, recently it rose to twice a week) in which a mistake doesn’t ask for a confirmation is not robbing. And how on Earth is not robbing if they stole iOS10 without my consent, and they would kept trying forever until I upgrade?

You gave "consent" when you clicked "upgrade me now".

They’ve been fighting hard with nagging screens, and finally they managed to fool me and this time I pushed the accept button instead of the cancel one (I don’t know if they changed the left/right position of the buttons, but they fooled me).
I recommend Android, Note 8. It will never ask you to update. Come back in a year and let us know, from a previous Apple person's point of view, how well the OS is working for you.
I was hoping for a 14inch MacBook or for the future modular Mac Pro, but I’m so upset that I think I’m not going to buy any other product from you anymore. This is not what I thought of you, Apple. Enough is enough.
We are sorry to see you go. A good laptop would be something like the Asus Zenbook Pro 15, running Windows10, or if you prefer to stay with the Unix(ish) environment, you could put Ubuntu on it. Especially now that Ubuntu is running Gnome once again.

Not only did iOS remind you multiple times to update, it warned you multiple times for every “valuable” (and outdated/clearly no longer supported by the developer) app that would no longer work in iOS 11. But did you export or back that data up? No. You continued to play chicken with the update and you lost.

You were warned. You had time. You stuck your head in the sand. Your fault, not Apple’s.

The only person who *might* be able to help you is Lionel Hutz, who you may know as the attorney who successfully sued the makers of the film The Never Ending Story.

Man, some of you guys are as ridiculous as the OP.

The constant nag screens to update are ridiculous. Show it to me once, but let me turn it off so that I'm not constantly getting reminders to update. I'll take the risk of having an un-updated phone.

Apple lets you turn off auto-updating for apps, why not for OS updates.

There are lots of reasons that someone doesn't want to update. C'mon Apple, let us stay on iOS10 if we want.

I check Settings>General>Storage & iCloud Usage>Manage Storage>Delete installed IOS11. That way it's not there to accidentally install. ;)
Except it'll redownload as long as you have enough space.

As crappy as that phone is, it's still amazing that you can now buy a touchscreen smartphone for $8! Man, we live in the future!
I actually bought it yesterday on Black Friday w/ 32GB Micro SD card for $7 (also a BF deal).

40GB phone for $15! On YouTube it actually looks half decent for $8. Runs the latest version on Android!?

Picking it up tomorrow.

They robbed my iPhone. Now it’s iOS 11. Very valuable apps and games don’t work anymore(and they had important files on them)

Depending your important data on apps that haven't been updated for 3 years is risky and things like this will happen.

Do you mean that only newbies want to stay on iOS10, or that veteran users click the nagging screen twice-a-week?

I'm still on iOS 10.
I just go to settings/general/storage and delete the iOS 11 download every few weeks or so.
I agree it's a pain to have to keep doing that but I never accidentally updated my device.

Install a tvOS profile to avoid getting automatic or even manual updates if you don't want them.
