I guess while turning one the MacBook you need to hold down the touchId button then you will get the restore menu, but in order to avoid bricking it because there is some issues with Big Sur 11.0 make sure to update to Big Sur 11.0.1 before trying to restore.

Mac Mini order placed on the morning 11th was "shipped" on the 19th. After being cleared.... It was stuck in Hong Kong since the 19th.

Today (four days later) I finally see an "update" of the tracking information on UPS this morning.. but not sure if item is actually moving in system.

Originally displayed a delivery of day early (Wednesday), but now pushed back to Apple's original delivery date of Friday 11/27/2020.

*Sigh*

Update: Finally cleared customs... so that's good.

Saw this on Twitter relevant to us in the Shanghai Gang:

"According to the press conference, two suspicious cases of were detected in Pudong New Area on 22 November while tracking close contacts of the confirmed cases earlier found at the UPS Shanghai International Transit Center at Pudong Airport. "

"On 20th November, Shanghai added 2 new confirmed cases of Covid-19. They are a couple. The husband is UPS security inspector at Pudong Airport, and his wife was a nurse at Pudong Hospital. "

Edit - wow look at this:

This may explain why the UPS flights were cancelled and no apparent movement of UPS shipments out of Shanghai.

I didn't do that and it wouldn't reload Big Sur. Called Apple Tech, we tired multiple things that didn't work. She said just return it and I'll note your account; there should be no issues with the return.

Crazy gift card offers coming to Apple on Friday, doesn't seem to be on the new items 12 phones, M1s or HomePod Mini, but you may want to hold off on buying the older items till then. I bought a new Apple TV over the weekend and there will be a $50 gift card offered on Friday, so mine is going back.
