Of course it won't have in stores. Even 4 weeks later, the Jet black was still nowhere to be found. Especially that Plus model.
You can't say that for certain. Last year was the first time that instore pick up was not available. Every year before that Apple got a lot of publicity with mass queues outside their retail stores.
I picked up AirPods on release day from a retail store and there is still a 4 to 6 week waiting list

I'll get a 7S+ (assuming it'll exist) to replace my 6+. Given such a radical design change with the 8, I'm going to let everyone else be the guinea pig for a release cycle. I can wait.

People say that every release of iPhone. I’ve owned every model since the first-gen, and I’ve never regretted buying day 1. Not to say every phone was perfect, but missing out wasn’t on the cards. :D

It depends on what they announce, but I skipped the 7 because I wanted to wait for the 10 year anniversary. So the "8" Pro is what I plan to buy.

If I don't like what they do with the "8" Pro, then I may switch to Android for a year or two. I may still get a 7S, but I'm not excited for it. I want a new phone no matter what is announced.

I wonder if the wireless charging will support fast wireless charging like Samsung phones.

I'm way too excited, I've been excited since getting the 7 hahah but yes cannot wait to watch the keynote and then be even more excited for the pre order, already decided on the all white 8 as I'm not a fan at all of that new "Burnt rose or gold" colour :S. I hope I'm as lucky as I always have been with all my past pre orders :D

So what do you do? Put an alarm, pre-order during the first 60 seconds of the pre-order starts?

Luckily its always my normal alarm time for work whenever Apple choose the pre order time in the UK :D so I wake up as quick as a can grab my phone and get on that Apple store and pre order with the old saved to favourites trick ;)

Pre orders are 8am here in the UK. But in my experience, it's usually at least 8.10/8.15 (8.30 last year) before I can get onto the Apple Store app. I guess that while some struggle to get on, others have more luck. 7.55am and I'm refreshing the app & website constantly!

Why 7.55? Why not at 7.59? Don't the preorder starts right at 8.00?

Last year I didn't get through until around 8:10am and the times for the 7Plus Jet a Black had already slipped at that point. I'm expecting the same this year with the 8, it really depends on how many people pre-order tho due to price so we will see.

Because I thought an extra 4 mins wouldn't hurt. lol

I think it can be pure luck if you manage to get your order in for release day. I originally wanted a 128gb matte black 7+ but could get the 256gb sooner (still a 3 week wait) so got that. Glad I did though, using more than half of it now.

If I'm off work, I'll have my pc, iPad & iPhone all on the go. Actually, I'll probably do that even if I'm at work.

What didn't get through exactly? Was the webpage not loading? You couldn't see the new iPhone? Couldn't add in your shopping bag? Sorry, never pre-ordered iphone before

Yup looking forward to the launch albeit not so excited about the the iP8 design, however would probably push the button after the reviews.

I plan to take the day off from work hence would be watching it live @

The page just stayed on the Apple store is down message, as others have said tho the Apple store app is quicker apparently which i will be trying this year along with Apple Pay which will also make it quicker since you don't have to enter in card details, shipping address and things like that.

I assume it's the same as I found. On the webpage, it just had the message about the store being updated, same for the app. Overall, it's better to order on the app.

I use the mobile application for all my ordering. It's just quicker and more streamlined over the desktop site for major preorders like the iPhone or Apple Watch when it launched.

Depending on features/price I'm going to either just keep my 7 or upgrade in December when the hype has died down. I can't be bothered stressing about pre-orders and getting it release day like I usually do. :p

When there's a keynote or preorder the main store website goes down a couple of hours before at which point new items get added.

During this period you are greated with a we'll be back soon error.

It's based on the providers DNS cache I've been told

I'm in Australia and I was loading the website over and over again from 4.55pm to 5.05 (12am PT) at which point it finally loaded. However it was too late for the jet black and my order for the Matt just barely made it in the first delivery batch.

My email showed 5.07pm but others had emails that were showing as early as 5.02pm

So the preorders obviously went live at 5pm
