I'll wait to see what the other iPhone's have to offer. I've been waiting for a while so I'm definitely pre-ordering something. If a new model becomes a thing, I wouldn't be surprised if next years version is worth waiting for.

Nothing strange about being an Apple fan. You know it is going to cost more. The 7S and 7S+ will likely be the same price as the 7 and 7+. Their biggest bump will be a new processor and iOS 11.

The 8 will be the upgrade, but you got to be will to pay for it.

This is Apple.

The strange part I meant is knowing I'll be disappointed. And knowing I could get an android device that spec wise blows the iPhone out the water for half the price. And yet I don't even consider it.

And when I'm disappointed after the keynote I'll think 'oh well, always next year'.

That's the strange bit. We as a community drink a lot of Apple kool-aid. We forgive them things we openly slate other manufacturers for. Yet we still stand by our favourite phone maker.

I wonder what they will do next year. They can't surely keep flogging the same 6 shaped horse for the next release. Yet they can't have all models based on the premium new model without hiking prices and alienating a lot of their customer base. It will be interesting.

Pre-ordering. Waited in line two hours last year to trade in my Note 7 and order the 7+. Never again

I'm curious to know what Android phone blows the iPhone out of the water spec wise?

Seriously. You couldn't Google and find an android handset with 2gb ram and a 1.6ghz CPU for under £300.

The moto G5 has 4gb ram and a faster CPU for under £200. The E4 is under £100 and has similar spec to the 6s. The Oneplus 3T is half the price of the iPhone.

I'm well aware the spec sheet only tells half the story and iOS works so well because it's designed to work perfectly with the hardware.

But let's not lie and say Apple would win if the competition was strictly spec sheet based.

Why should I waste my time Googling? Was waiting to see if you were going to quote more ram etc which means **** all. Apple have proven time and again that iOS doesn't need a million gb of ram to run smooth and efficiently.

Now, which of these actually blows the iPhone out of the water performance wise?

Thanks, champ.

Damn, that's 3am! With any luck, I may be up already (working)...

No problem! Now we are all waiting for Apple to make the official announcement on when this thing's gonna be!

He makes a bad point with the handsets he has chosen as a comparison but the S8 can be had brand new for under $600 and thats comparable spec/performance wise to the upcoming iphone 8. Similar quality screen, speed etc and yet the iPhone 8 is supposed to be super expensive.

Comparable, yes. But he was talking about blowing out of the water.

Did you actually read my post? I said more than once specs don't tell the whole story.

You're preaching to the converted. I've had iPhones since the 3G. I was simply pointing out that being a fan of Apple can at times be strange.

This time of year is great: fantasy football, iPhone presser/release, WWE 2k info, NBA 2k, NFL/NCAAF right around the corner, and tons of fall shows will be around soon (South Park to name a show).
