They could have at least used iOS 11 signal bars...

I'm hoping Apple does something interesting with the iPhone 8. The OLED display, wireless charging, fast charging, face tracking, etc. are all nice but there's nothing interesting in here. We've already either seen this in the Android phones or in the case of the face tracking it's just replacing what we already have, TouchID.

I'm not sure I can justify the $1k+ price tag if Apple doesn't do something interesting here, even though I'd really like that OLED display.

I'm going to wait a month or so to let them work out the kinks, I've had to return almost every single Apple item that I bought at launch due to screen issues multiple times

you have exactly 0.003 seconds to get your pre order in after it goes live, after that...you are facing shipping times of at least 2 months.

Assuming that Apple actually allows preorders for it. If it's truly going to be in that short of supply at launch, they may not. I remember in 2013 when the 5C and 5S debuted. Customers could preorder the 5C but not the 5S due to limited availability at launch. I remember getting up way early in the morning to go stand in line outside the AT&T store. So who knows?

Of course they're going to have pre orders. I know for a fact I pre ordered the 5S and received it on launch day. I think you're getting mixed up. I think maybe 5C were just able to pre order sooner?

My current phone is about to kick the bucket, so i'll preorder this the second its up.

I'm actually excited for this years announcement. Which tells me I'll be disappointed.

I have a 6s. Going by rumours the 8 will be the phone that's an actual upgrade. But will see a fairly high price jump. There no way I'd pay the rumoured prices for a phone. I don't care what it has.

Which means I'll be looking out for the 7s. But I imagine it will just be the usual small spec bump on what is now a 4 year old design.

Yet I still find myself excited.

It's a strange thing being an apple fan.

Nothing strange about being an Apple fan. You know it is going to cost more. The 7S and 7S+ will likely be the same price as the 7 and 7+. Their biggest bump will be a new processor and iOS 11.

The 8 will be the upgrade, but you got to be will to pay for it.

This is Apple.

I love my 7 Plus, but I do wish for a smaller phone body. I don't have issues reaching the screen with one hand, but the size is not pocket friendly. The problem is, I've had all three of the 5.5 inch screened iPhones and I don't want to give up the large screen. I think the 8 will be a great combination of a large screen and a pocket friendly size.

I am a little concerned about the screen durability with it being so close to the edge of the phone. Looks like it would not take much to damage. Time will tell.
