Just came here to add my two cents. My preference would be better sports integration within iOS, not a separate app. I realize there are a lot of folks who could care less about sports - maybe a toggle to turn off results within search.

On page 3 already and nobody’s mentioned the Sports Alert app. It’s SO much better in every way.

It has Dynamic Island support for games, You can even long press on a game and "follow" it. Are there notifications for games in the Apple app? It looks as though it just pulled any "Sports" info I had saved in the TV App and dumped it in. Was really hoping for something better and a little more robust than what looks like someone built really fast for Eddy Cue.
I love that app. It's perfect for tracking games w/live activities. I wish they had better widgets with more customization though.

Downloaded it, deleted it. What a useless barebones app (certainly for Premier League) with a horrible UI/UX

I’ll stick to FotMob for now
Yeah, it does seem a little useless especially if there's little to no other customizations other than choosing your favorite teams/leagues

Kind of a strange oversight to not have anything in the way of notifications from the app, unless I'm somehow missing how to get to it?

So no way to customize in Settings because it’s not there. Notifications? None. This is beyond basic.
Yup, such a STRANGE oversight if you ask me

Other sports apps like ESPN and all of the leagues' own apps have this stuff baked in; kind of defeats the purpose if you ask me, as most of what I use a sports app for is to get notified of any scoring updates (comes in handy especially when I'm not able to be right by a TV to catch any of my teams)

Yuck. The icon is ugly. NFL isn't even an option. Same for college football. There are a bunch of what I assume are soccer (boring AF) leagues that I can't get rid of.. no thanks.

Downloaded this app, but thinking about deleting it until it's not so half-baked; the lack of any sort of customization like notifications of things like team news, scores, or anything like that just seems so short sighted

No ads is nice but the app just appears unfinished. I’ll stick with my theScore app.

I’m in Canada. No NFL or CFL listing. Weird.
I suspect it’s because neither league is playing right now. But maybe I’m giving them too much credit. I also don’t see tennis or any form of motorsport. As I posted earlier, the app just looks unfinished.

This is fine. The "sports scores" app category has been pretty lacking for a while; most of the apps are ad-filled garbage or terrible webviews. Just wish this supported widgets. It's pretty lacking, but it's a 1.0 and will bring some desperately needed competitive pressure to incumbent apps.

If anything, it's intriguing to me and I'll play around with it once MLB starts. But I agree with others that have commented on its "bare bones" approach. No live activities. No notifications. No widgets. No dynamic island from what I can tell. So far, it's a very stripped down, lacking version of the ESPN app. However, having the ability to turn off betting lines and odds PLUS no ads is a plus...

I hope it receives updates soon but I have a feeling I'll be using Sports Alerts a lot more than this.

[nvm on sports betting, one has to go find the settings elsewhere to turn it off, happy you can!]

Live Activities don't even support NFL or NHL scores yet. Please work on the Apple. Other than that, I'm glad I've been automatically getting live activities for Knicks games since iOS 17.

And it appears this app is partially broken because it's not showing yesterday's or tomorrow's Rangers game. And it seems like this app doesn't support live activities like the tv app does. Yikes.

Edit: Nevermind it's there now, it took a while for my followed teams to sync.

no NFL, No college FB, is this only because both are not in season? Still should be there and allow me to follow my teams, get news on those teams etc. This is kinda trash right now.

Hope this automatically enables live activities for teams I follow. Annoying to have to turn that on for every MLB game 162 times

Seems like something they would put in the APP, not just under "settings" but whatever...clearly a v1 release.
