This is an attempt to bait users into signing up for additional Apple services. There are many well-established sports apps with great polish. Only reason Apple is doing this is to conveniently place a "Watch on AppleTV+" link in every imaginable spot. Getting tired of this nonsense, I just feel like a potential marketing impression rather than a customer these days.

I kinda like the Yahoo sports app for this reason. They keep the upselling junk to a minimum, and do a decent job presenting scores, stats and standings for many sports globally.

I disagree. We’re not talking about a policy of continuous improvements. This app was simply not ready for release. It’s missing basic functionality - and anyone who uses other sports apps knows it. It’s almost an insult. And, since no one was necessarily expecting it, it begs the question: Why didn’t Apple wait until it was ready for release? Or are the geeks in Cupertino so clueless that they didn’t realize it - or care?
Because Apple wanted to release it. Plain and simple. Ready or Not ... Email Timmy and ask him your questions. I'm sorry that Apple almost insulted you but there's other things to worry about in life

Have you ever had a look at the language and subtitle options that Apple provides for their Apple TV programs? To my view, Apple is one of the few companies that takes a global look.
So, I've got this funny situation with my Apple TV. You see, all my gadgets are set to English, but my Apple account is Dutch. No biggie for most devices - Siri works just fine in English. But the Apple TV? It's being a bit stubborn. It won't let me use Siri in English because of my Dutch account. Here's the kicker: movie titles in the Netherlands aren't translated, so I have to put on my best Dutch accent when pronouncing English titles for Siri to understand. Talk about a global mix-up, right?

On the bright side, at least all the streaming services offer Dutch subtitles. So, there's that!

Wow, there's even MacRumors’ favorite sport: Apple Lovers vs Apple Haters.

Besides that, all streaming services offer Dutch subtitles.

Really? I live in Guatemala, and it's still 50/50 whether any streaming service will offer subtitles in Spanish. About 7.5% of the world's population speaks Spanish. Best I can tell, about .004% of the world's population speaks Dutch.

I'm not questioning you, I just wonder how that's possible.

I feel like they should've just held this to be part of iOS 18 with a WWDC reveal and maybe announce some new league streaming deal at the same time. Obviously it would have had more time to bake since it is totally basic currently.

No NFL or CFB? I immediately deleted. I have enough sports apps on my iPhone as is.
At least they’re not in season now. What’s the excuse for golf or tennis (besides Eddy Cue not being a fan)? If Apple wants to get more into sports they should buy the rights to women’s tennis.

No motor sports, no UFC, no NFL, no watch integration, no iPad app. What does this have that the sports section news app doesn’t already? Seriously. Why does this app exist?

Folks…..this App must of somehow just got accidentally released. It was a summer project for one of their grade-school interns. Not to worry. Apple would never release anything this bad.

P.S. Pretty good stuff though for a 12-year old.
