do you think they would put something like iPods that everyone wants to steal in a parking lot?

touche!

Weird that, whatever it is, they'd just leave it in the parking lot. Heck, even if it was their tables or shelving, the type of people that would steal it wouldn't check first. They'd nab it, open it when they got home expecting a crate of iMacs or something, and instead have a crapload of IKEA-like furniture.

These crates are massive and they are now surrounded by a orange metal fence. Someone probably tried to steal a smaller box and found it was just furniture.

That Apple furniture is pretty nice!!

I was able to catch a glimpse into the construction zone by the Sony Store and you can see the skeleton of all the metal out laying of the Apple Store.

I went by the location a couple of weeks ago. Why is there still a store operating where the Apple store will be? It looks like a small location.

Next time you go to the mall, try and take a picture. I'll try and remember. :D

I walked past the new location a couple of days ago. If you look through the crack in the doors, you can see the genius symbol on the back wall all lit up, so they're getting really close to being open. October 4th seems quite possible. Strange that nothing has been announced yet though.

Wow... I didn't hear anything about this location until today! It's about time (though a shame that I'll be out of town for the grand opening!)

Finally! Calgary's getting an Apple Store!!! I am SO gonna be there! Just glad I finally have a place to take my MBP in for repairs if I need to rather than sending it away (knock wood, hasn't happened yet).

BTW, how far in advance do you think I'd need to line up to get a t-shirt? :p

I got the email too. Too bad I don't need to buy anything. I want to check it out but I'm in no rush.

Actually I assumed there was already an Apple Store there. So I am also delighted with the news (seeing as I am moving to Calgary before Crimbo :) )

wonderful as I've yet to experience an actual Apple store. All we have in Gibraltar is an Apple approved centre (few displays but not much really as Gib is a bit small).

I can't wait - its now on my 'When I Get To Canada I Am Gonna Do' list with Ice Hockey game, See real snow for the first time ever and get a descent Starbucks!

My first Apple Store was in Seattle over the summer, and to be honest it was underwhelming. I think you need to go to a flagship store to fell all the Apple shazam.

So, I was past the store today...took a quick look between the doors...lots of hardware and displays set up. Kinda wish I wasn't working on Saturday! Oh well.

Anyway...anyone know if they will honor Education Pricing in-store?
