Been trying. Got hosed every single time. It never makes it to the cart.
Whether on an iPhone, iPad, or my MBA. It's been infuriating.
Mine made it into the cart, had totaled the price, and then as I was paying a message popped up saying "we have modified your cart based on availabilty" and I was toast.

Same here. I've been trying for almost two weeks now. A couple times I made it that far. But the end result is always the same: NO MINI.

Well Bill, hang in there.

I wouldn't be so eager to get one, but it literally is the last thing they make that I want (and they don't even make it anymore).

Does anybody know if you can buy Applecare on refurb computers? So it would extend the product to 3 years warranty.

Just a word of warning, got an alert on the refurbMe app about 4 hours late.

I was at the phone when the alert came in, went right to the apple site, all gone. Cane here and realized the refurbme app gave me the alert a few hours late.

Same thing here. RefurbMe appears to be worthless.

jeez

you guys are lucky in the US

we in Europe almost never have Mac Minis on refurb :(

or maybe a few units but sold out after a few seconds...

moreover even refurb mac mini are expensive

It's painful, I even clicked on a 2012 2.6 i7 with Fusion drive, so it would have had the two SATA cables inside, but obviously it can't be shipped to Europe. Why can't they send them here? haha

I got a 2.3 i7 dual 1TB drive with OS X server. refurb.me sent me the alert. Happy with that as it's primed for a two drive SSD upgrade at some point in the future if required.

There had been nothing on the apple.ie store until now that I could see in time. I would imagine more will come along now as stock comes back from the big stores and suppliers warehouses but yea there is a lot more in the US, bigger single market I guess.

Form alert to purchase 33 minutes. You got to be fast folks!

I do think there will be an uptick in supply for a while yet so no panic. Mac minis tend to come in waves of 1's-3/5's.

don't rely on refurbme, I got the alert late. Plan on checking throughout the day.

I gave it a try. The minis happened to post past midnight I was still awake. I moved fast. It worked in that scenario. It's handy tool. Is all. Relax.

Wow it's now lunch time here i.e. 12 hours later and I rechecked the apple.ie refurb section. All the MINI's are now gone!

What I've noticed in the last few years trying to get a refurbished mini from Apple is that they tend to be put up at around 11:30am -12:30pm and at 7pm - 8pm Eastern. At least this is the U.S. refurbished store.

I bought a 2.3GHz quad with a 256GB SSD on 10/30 right at lunch time, felt very lucky to get it as I've gone through what others have where you have in the cart then it gets pulled at the last second.

On UK/Ireland stores, all refurbs are redone at about midnight each night.

If you're not having much luck with refurb.me you could try:-

https://refurb-tracker.com/en/

Personally, I've had no issues with either of them. I get a flood of text messages and emails come in as soon as refurbs are up.

Might be worth checking your email push settings. You may have it set up so that during the night it's not checking as frequently as it is in the daytime?

Also, you could go through with a mock purchase on the Apple store now and save your address/billing information. I missed the first batch of Mini's and then when the next batch went up it was 4 minutes from text/email alert to purchase confirmation.

I sent back a quad-core i7 w/ 1TB HDD as a return yesterday so there's at least one quad-core i7 that will be available at some point in the near future. I managed to grab one with the 1TB fusion drive so I'm happy! Make sure you have all your shipping, billing and payment information saved which makes checking out much faster.

Apple has all my other info, but I don't trust them with a credit card.

These things are literally selling out in seconds.

I don't want a fusion drive, I always put straight SSDs in Minis, so paying a premium for that sours the deal.

Thanks for the timing tips, I should have asked sooner!

I didn't value a fusion drive over a dual drive system. Makes the upgrade easier with no extra bits needed other than tools and some sweet Samsung 840's or what not and a better discount in my book.

Unless the fusion drive is dual and not a single drive ssd/platter combo? :D

A fusion drive in a 2012 mini is indeed two separate drives. A standard 128GB SSD and a 1TB mechanical drive.

I see. Not required for what I needed (mirror raid being the key requirement of a server) but I'll keep it in mind for the next one but I'd prefer to spend the money on two Samsung down the line and get as raw and cheap a mac mini.

Oh to get an 2012 i7 2.6ghz now that's the prize!

They'll be like hens teeth soon enough.

If you don't trust Apple with your card info, buy a prepaid card and sign up for Express Checkout. This will make your checkout far quicker, and lessen the chance of getting the machine being taken from right under your nose. I always use prepaid cards for any online purchases.
