I was about to check out a MBP when I saw the spot for a promo code. Since I couldn't find one that worked here I called them up and asked for a discount.

The rep offered me $100 off, when I told him it was a refurbished model he put me on hold and asked someone. No discount on the refurbished. For anyone buying new it didn't take too much asking for a discount.

Most things over $500 are negotiable if you ask, good luck.

RE: Apple Discount

hello, please forgive me if i'm posting incorrectly or in the wrong thread. i'm new.
when i inquired about a discount from an apple.ca phone rep i was told NOPE, but maybe i'd qualify in the future after i've made a few purchases
anyways, i'd greatly appreciate it if anyone has a promo code for $30 off $300 that will work at apple.ca please email me at platinumgenesis@gmail.com and i will happily return the favor if my 'future' apple discount promo code ever materializes, i'm a poor college student and it's not likely i'll be able to afford any big purchases after the current one that's pending ... thanks in advance for any help stacie

HE is the highest discount you can get. You can't stack the two because the purchases are made in separate "stores".

What is the HE discount?

And how long do the promo codes usually last? Can you use promo codes with the edu discount and with the "HE" discount?

No you can not use promo codes in education store as they are already discounted. I asked this in apple chat on the online store

Members here have reported being able to use the $30 off $300 at the ed store, but I don't have first hand knowledge of it.

When I was looking at the ADC discount for students, it was significantly cheaper than the standard HE/edu discount. The ADC is about 20-25% while the standard HE/edu discount is only 10%. The only caveat is that the ADC student discount is only applicable for ONE hardware purchase over the lifetime of the person and it takes more effort. You have to mail/fax your schedule and get approved for the HW discount and you have to pay the ($99) fee to join. For people buying the less expensive hardware, the HE/edu discount might end up being cheaper, but definitely when looking at (any) Macbook Pro or Mac Pro the ADC discount for students is cheaper.

Yep, just take proof that you are at the school e.g. a school letterhead, addressed to you or your parents. Also if you have a student card, take that just in case.

I bought Leopard before Christmas that way....

Making the Switch

I'm hoping to become new to Mac and new to Mac Rumors, and hoping that someone might help make this transition a little cheaper. I'll be using the ED online store and wondering if there are any promo codes for an iMac... anything helps! Thanks.

UK promo code for £23 off 235.

It's one time use, so the first one there gets the savings!

Forget the promo code

CALL! 1-800-MY-APPLE or 1.800.692.7753

Like another poster mentioned...call and ASK for a promo. They have a $50 promo "to close the deal" that they will offer right away. I walked away with about HUGE upgrade...for FREE! Your Mileage May Vary YMMV!!! Be nice to the person on the phone and best of luck to you all!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
