No, with contacs included 22 cm ?
That’s ridiculous!

The Apple spec page says 1 m, is anyone else getting a short cable?

Oh wait, you mean the Studio (computer) dang I didn’t even see that cable, have to look for it. The monitor should come with a 1 m cable.

Ahhh ok, I’ll see when the Display comes then.

How in he%# can one of the worlds richest companies deliver a 20cm thunderbolt cord with a machine such as the Mac Studio to attach the Studio Display with?

That is nothing less than total insanity ?

I saw it when I packed it up, I've heard about it too. But put away all stuff as I would't use until the STD arrived. I am just saying, really cheap Apple ?
Well, placed an order on 2 x 1,20 m tonight, so I'll be fine.
The Mac Studio only comes a power cable. Nothing else.

The ASD comes with a 1 m TB3 cable. Each of my ASDs VESA Mount came with a 1 m TB3 cable. I did purchase a pair of Apple TB4 1.8 m cables because the one that came with my ASDs felt short when used with my Ergotron VESA mounts but a 1 m TB cable should be enough if your Mac Studio or Mac Mini sits under the ASD with standard tilt or tilt/height adjustable stand. The VESA Mount option should come with the 1.8 m TB4 cable, though.

But Lioness hasn't received their ASD, just the Mac Studio. I'm not sure what the 22cm cable described is.

For those who are down the pecking order for deliveries, maybe wait if possible to the autumn if you fancy an even better display?

MacRumours are saying Apple will release another 27in display with mini LEDs and ProMotion. It was supposed to be released in June but the Shanghai lockdown has pushed that back to October.

Having fallen in love with the screen on my 16" MBP, it would be nice to have something similar for my desktop, but I have a feeling it'll be priced closer to their XDR display than to the ASD.
If its announced for $2K or so, Botch will be pissy. ;)

I agree. The rumored specs sound like this would be a replacement for the Pro Display XDR.

It’s been good to see an occasional order placed in the second week of March ship. Hopefully it means that they are ramping up.

For anyone looking for an ASD nano / tilt in the DMV, the Apple Store at Tysons Corner, VA has one available tomorrow.

BHphotovideo is now reporting that vesa models are now available at mid august - delayed from end of july just earlier this week. Does not seem like the supply chain is keeping up with orders...

A somewhat belated update from Apple UK, apparently my ASD will be with me later next week. Not sure the Apple order updates are worth the electrons at the moment. Best ignored in fact.

Anyway, who cares what Apple thinks as my new ASD is actually relaxing on my kitchen table!

?

congrats! And they made it just before the end of the estimated window!??

checking comments from earlier in this thread, I ordered mine 9 days after you, and my delivery window started 9 days after yours too. So I’m hoping that means my display will arrive in 9 days time ?

that means I’m going to have to spend the next 8 days tidying up my desk to try and make space for it... I should have started a fortnight ago! ?

Just got a shipping notice for my ASD T/H/Std, ordered 3/8. Almost 40 pound shipping weight seems high for a 17 pound monitor, though. Can anyone who's received their ASD please confirm?

Ordered my ASD On 14 March with a delivery sundown 5/10 to 5/24. It’s still in the processing stage. What’s the chance that I’ll actually get it delivered on Monday

That weight is totally correct. I just weighted the boxes of my ASDs VESA Mount and each one came back at 13.5 lbs. The T/H box is heavier because it's a bigger box. The VESA Mount box is the smallest of the three models.

Thanks. I guess the packaging is sturdy enough to protect the monitor during shipping — those boxes bounce around a lot as they make their way through the channels.

I'm unprepared too, probably doubly so. My iMac Pro died so had to buy an 'emergency' M1 iMac to tide me over. I now have the old iMP still to sort, the M1 iMac still doing its stuff in my study, a Mac Studio gathering dust and the ASD in my kitchen!

First world problems for sure:

Best I have a look in the box at some point.

Ordered 4/10 for 5/17-5/24 delivery (ASD Standard/Tilt) and it’s been in “Preparing to Ship” for 3 days now, don’t think I’ve ever had to wait this long for it to actually ship once moving to this status
