I'm in the UK.

Not only has my VESA mount ASD has just moved to Preparing to Ship (ordered 12th March), but also my MBP 16 (ordered 20th March - Max 32 / 64Gb / 8Tb) has also done so at the same time. The MBP had been pushed back from end April/early May delivery slot but actually the ASD will likely be delivered in its original delivery window (by 27th May).

I'm in the UK too - ordered my ASD (Standard / VESA) on 9th March, and it's *still* sitting on 'Processing' (set to arrive '17.Jun - 1.Jul').... did you order the 'standard' or 'nano' out of interest?

Standard glass.

It's looking like they are being dispatched separately as I've had a message from DHL they collected 1 package from the message I've just received. Not sure if that's the ASD or MBP as both still showing preparing to ship in my account. It's coming via DHL from Shanghai so hopefully will be here before the weekend whichever it is.

Hopefully yours won't be long. I think it's odd that both changed at the same time (i.e. nothing changed until first thing this morning for both of them - had been processing before I went to bed last night).

One thing I did note was the pending charge for both of these appeared the past couple of days on my credit card before this happened. Keep an eye on your payment method if it's something you can see and any action there likely indicates shipping is imminent in the next few days.

Thanks for that. I just called Apple UK to have a little moan that orders (for the same configuration) placed *after* mine were now shipping whereas I was still stuck in 'Processing', and heard a few little tidbits that people might find interesting:
1 - Any orders that have missed their originally expected timeframe are eligible for some kind of gesture of goodwill from Apple if they felt strongly about it and called up Aftersales to complain
2 - Depending on *where* people ordered it from (business, student discount, online, other avenues...) will affect when it might ship, as different 'stockpiles' are allocated to different sections like that.
3 - The agent said that they have noticed more activity in the past week or so in terms of things shipping / deliveries being made to customers... so things seem to be improving certainly at least in the last week

(Note to readers: this is all from a UK-perspective)

Interesting. Mine is an education store order.

Ah I see! ... Mine was the normal bog standard consumer online store....

As soon as they told me that (different stockpiles for different 'stores') I actually felt a lot better about it actually - i.e. that there was at least some *logic* behind why some orders were getting shipped before my own (for the same config) :) as I was beginning to think I had been forgotten about lol... can't wait to get mine ?

.... going to try and ask for a heavy discount on a 1.8m TB4 cable as compensation (as I don't think the included 1m cable will cut the mustard with the monitor arm I will be mounting it on, as 1m might be too short)

That’s weird. I’m in the UK and ordered a standard/VESA on March 18th and it’s due 19 May - Jun 6.

Mine was a business order so maybe they’re a slightly higher priority? This is the first time I’ve bothered with Apple business but if it helps with delivery times maybe it’s worth doing.

anyone thinking of canceling their ASD order due to these rumors of a promotion miniled display in October?
No, for a number of reasons.

1) There's no guarantee that it will come - see how wrong the rumours of the most recent Apple event were - no iMac 27 Pro or new Mac Mini. These turned out to be 2 completely different devices.

2) The price would be so eye watering that it will be like have 2 testicles squeezed, rather than just 1 with the ASD.

3) I'll be able to do anything that requires the features of the rumoured display on my MBP 16 - e.g. HDR.

4) Most of my usage will be photo editing/SDR video editing so unless this had a larger screen size like the Pro Display XDR it would not be worth it for me.

Same here (I second those thoughts)... mainly due to #1 & #2 though

It will also suffer all of the same supply issues as the ASD, so if you’re nearly at the end of a 2+ month wait it seems nuts to jump over to the back of a different queue.

I would have preferred an XDR-sized monitor, as 1440p equivalent is a bit limiting (and it would’ve been nice to feel like I was actually upgrading from my old iMac) but since I just want the pixel count and don’t need any of the mini-LED fanciness it would be pointless to pay a huge premium for it. Especially if you could pick up 2x ASDs for the cost of one of the new ones.

I’m not at all sold on high refresh rates for productivity monitors either. The vast majority of the time I’m looking at static content, so who really cares whether scrolling animations run at 60hz or 120+. When I got my first ‘retina’ phone there was definitely no going back from that, but having had high refresh rate support on the iPhone for a while, I can take it or leave it tbh.

I have exactly the same time estimation on mine - we can hope ?
I have similar dates but I ordered height and tilt adjustable regular screen. I got a VESA that I am going to return. I guess I could sell it as well?

It sucks that they’re making people wait until the very last moment in their original delivery windows and then delaying. If they’re adding another month it’s hard to believe they’re only just realising they’re not going to make the original cut-off.

A cynic would be wondering if it’s intentional as they know that they’d have way more cancellations if they let people know earlier on.

Do you know if yours is shipping from PA? And did your credit card get a pending charge?
