Thanks. That is a bummer. I am going to have to return or sell the VESA one - I did not like how it looks on my desk with a cheap Amazon arm, this thing needs a proper stand. Appreciate the help, hopefully the wait will not be too long.
Which cheap Amazon arm are you using? The Amazon Basics arm is rock solid (it's a rebranded Ergotron LX mount) and apart from the black being gloss rather than matte of the LX it is the same arm.

Why not buy a decent VESA arm? I picked one up (an Ollin) when the ASD was announced as it seemed like it offered a better experience than the £400 height upgrade for a much lower cost. It’s still early days but I like the flexibility it adds, and having the monitor ‘floating’ instead of needing a large stand taking up desk space is pretty neat. Plus it’s the only option that supports rotation, which I can see being useful from time to time.

Get an Ergotron LX and you will love your ASD VESA mount. I have been using the Ergotron LX mount for the last 12 years and still works and looks like day one!!

Decided I could wait so I was able to snag two displays from two different apple stores of the tilt variety.

My command station is almost complete

I ordered three for my workplace; the first was right after ordering opened up and I had it on launch day. The other two I ordered later that evening of March 8th, after mulling it over a bit. Those two were supposed to arrive in early April and got pushed twice, with the most recent delivery window having been June 6-20. Yesterday they moved to preparing to ship and my card was charged, and today they have marked as shipped with delivery tomorrow. All three were standard screen tilt/height adjustable. FYI, my first one is awesome, the person using it is using with a 13" M1 MacBook Pro and does a lot of Zoom meetings with it. They find the camera to be perfectly fine. Sound is great for built-in monitor speakers.

Ordered March 10th (standard display, standard stand) and received it today. That was a long wait.

First shock was the software update failed and I only had a blank screen with an error message.

Turns out, the update did not work with an extention cable which I am using. After plugging the original cable directly into my iMac it worked. Wow... that was really a shock moment.
For normal use the USB 4 extension cable works flawlessly.

Ordered March 9
Original delivery window April 22 - May 5
Rescheduled on May 5 to June 6 - 13
Delivers... today! (May 26)

I'm pleasantly surprised that delivery was moved up by almost 2 weeks...I was dreading another delay. Perhaps supply chain issues are improving?

My ASD standard with tilt/height ordered on March 8 just went into "preparing to ship" yesterday. I had two delays and the current window is June 7-14th. It looks like it will arrive before that window, but my card has not been charged. I used Apple Card with the free 12 month financing.

Just received email from Apple that my ASD standard glass / VESA, ordered 3/17 has shipped via UPS with expected delivery 5/28. Original expected delivery date window was 5/16-5/30. UPS tracking does not yet indicate the origin point for the shipment. No change yet to Apple Card status.

Edit, update to UPS point of origin: Lebanon, TN

I got this message the morning of when my order changed to preparing to ship. I think I first noticed message around 8 AM Eastern. And then my credit card was charged around 6 PM Eastern and then shortly after it changed to preparing to ship. You can view my post A page or two back

Crazy how behind Apple seems to be on shipping these. Apple is catching up with Mac Studio orders up to or around March 30th, but is still fulfilling early March orders for the Studio Display!

This has been highly variable and on the surface was frustrating and doesn’t make a lot of sense. For instance my order was placed April 5 and I received the ASD yesterday.

Someone shared information from a conversation with an Apple rep that made sense. Inventory is allocated not just by product options, but by purchase channel ie retail, business, store, education, etc.

Yes, they're still working on orders from March 8! The status finally moved this evening, I should see the charges on my card soon.

This really is crazy stuff seeing orders from March still not in the hands of customers. I keep checking the local Apple Store stock and they're quoting August for in-store stock and online orders.

Wonder how this looks in practice. My order is through the Apple Business team at my nearby Apple Store - all the items (MBP, Studio Display w/ tilt, keyboard and trackpad) have to ship together in one shipment.

I don't know if the MBP will just sit waiting on a shelf somewhere if it's made before the ASD, or if they will make them in one go. Or if the fact it's through Apple Business is an advantage or disadvantage. Or neither.

Either way my date is mid to late July at the moment and has been in processing for nearly a month. I just hope it doesn't slip into August or beyond and I have to wait that long for all the equipment.

Apple don’t even know all details in between department’s - big company today.
I don’t blame them exactly either. Most are very helpful and great people in my experience. Women more than the guys actually.

Was 1st thinking of getting the return right delayed even more for the MacStudio as that already prolonged right is going to its end 12 June. But I think I'll have enough time to see all is fine with both the Mac and the Display on that time.

But got into discussions about the Apple Care+ with a man, who couldn't find my orders and according to him it had already expired for the Mac Studio.
But was transferred to Apple Care dept. and no the right to buy AC+ expires 60 days after Apple sent the device, not the purchase date, so I had even 30 days left on that right.

Still hope that the Mac Studio is a great Mac from start, so I don’t have any need to return it, which I will know hopefully very soon. But now it have Apple Care+ too for 3 yrs as well. I usually buy it on my Macs, not iDevices. Not always had use for it, but the times I've had, and the service for 3 extended yrs it give far outweigh the costs.
