Is this from a track8mg website or from the apple site. Never seen a window like that before
It's an Apple Store inventory checker app, it's not my order.

My order still shows up as processing with the same text:

"We have everything necessary to complete your order. We’ll update your delivery date when your order is preparing to ship."

☹️

I was extremely lucky yesterday, as I found a tilt adjustable standard unit available to pickup today at 0.8 mile away apple store. I didn't even have a time to think and then quickly press the keys to secure that one for me.
Order now with no such luck seems to deliver a unit around mid August....

Glad to see that orders from March 18th-20th are shipping and arriving now, which means my 30th order might be a week or so away from shipping . . . which is about dead center in the original shipping window.

Apple seems to be really struggling to manufacture their products as quickly as they typically do.
Even Macbook Pros are still 8-10 weeks out and they're "old" at this point.

Still no hint of movement on my March 18th standard/VESA order. The original window was May 19 - June 6, but with two bank holidays in the UK next week it wouldn’t surprise me if it gets delayed.

Probably due to tough covid lockdowns in China. Hopefully a temporary struggle and should be back to normal when either covid is gone (years?) or when China relax covid response (weeks-months?).

My standard/vesa was ordered on 13 March with ETA 16-31 May. Shipped Thursday 25 May with ETA Monday 30 May. (no delays) Just got SMS from UPS confirming delivery between 14:00-18:00 tomorrow May 30, which is in the original delivery window! 👍

Also have two Macbook Pros on order. One was ordered early April and delivered last week. The other was ordered in early May with ETA ~5-20 July.

Forbes had an article on Apple delays recently, part of a wider delay of tech globally. it centres on the MBPs as buyers are ordering MBPs in huge numbers it seems as they're so good and the M1 is a game changer. But it mentions the ASD as well.

If you’ve decided not to wait and are looking for a new MacBook Pro, you might need to wait some time. Consumer reports are pointing towards lower stock levels in the supply chain, with many Apple fans being asked to wait until August before picking up their new macOS-powered laptop.

While there is no single report or detail that confirms the issue, there are a growing number of Apple fans looking to buy a new MacBook Pro that are reporting long lead times to have their machines shipped. Add up all those data points, and the story becomes much clearer, as Michael Potuck explains:

"We started seeing more reports of the same and even the stock 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models were pushed into mid-July. It’s now a few weeks later and the supply issues are continuing. The stock 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro notebooks are shipping as late as July 28. And direct from Apple, if you upgrade any component, like the M1 Pro/Max chip, RAM, or storage, the shipping time slips to as late as August 8."

On one hand, this has been expected. The consumer electronics industry has suffered from a shortage of supply to customers for some time now; with factors including the worldwide silicon chip shortage, the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, and the general slowing down of various economies all coming into play.

Apple has weathered this far more than other manufacturers - no doubt due to Apple’s size in the marketplace that demands more attention is paid to it compared to much smaller manufacturers chasing the same components.

On the other hand, Apple can’t change the fundamental laws of supply and demand. Once any backlog or goodwill has been used up, Tim Cook and his team will return to a level playing field and face the same challenges as other manufacturers. Which I suspect is what is happening here.

A mix of a new design of laptops (the first big change to the MacBook Pro platform since 2016) and the move to the ARM-based Apple Silicon offering better performance and endurance compared to the direct Intel equivalent, has increased the demand for the MacBook. With more demand on one side and reduced supply on the other, the delay from purchase to delivery for the average consumer can be measured in months.

Neither is it just the MacBook Pro affected, although its popularity means it is the most noticeable. The new Mac Studio and Studio Display are showing similar months-long delays, and while the standard iMac models can be picked up almost immediately, any upgrades to RAM or Storage will push delivery back to, you guessed it, August.

Maybe it’s better to wait till August… after all, Apple is set to announce new plans for the whole Mac family - including the MacBook Pro - at next month’s WWDC with the potential for new hardware before the end of the year.

OW22 gets to a point that I've been wondering about --- My Mac Studio has been sitting unopened under my desk for about a month. While I'm optimistic that it could be sooner, my Display has been pushed out to July.

At what point do I return the Studio and wait for the next iteration? Can I just bring it back to the local Apple Store unopened after 60 days?

I think it’s going to a while before we see updates to the MBPs and ASDs.

Imagine how stupid Apple would be to release new models now with all the delays in shipping the current gens.

So many people would cancel their orders to reorder a new model and I just can’t see any updates til 2023 personally.

I don’t think the Studio Display will be updated for several years. The Pro might drop and sit between the ASD and XDR but I don’t think that’ll be til late 2022 earliest, if not 2023.

My order just reverted from "preparing to ship" back to "processing" this AM.

Order date: March 8
Model: Standard/tilt/height
Delayed twice
Current ETA June 7-14

My status was moved to "preparing to ship" on 5/25 and remained in that mode for 5 days. Today it's back to "processing"

Hi,

Has anyone noticed the order status is a bit strange today?
I've logged in via Apple's site and Apple Store iOS app - and all my orders placed on 3/8 (Studio, ASD, Keyboard, etc) have all gone back to 'order placed' and are quoted with the original ship dates of April.
Also, I've already received the Studio, keyboard, trackpad - just waiting for the ASD.

They're saying the same thing on the MacStudio order thread as well - order status resetting to Processing.
Someone had an error when reloading the webpage saying their Apple ID doesn't match the order, so hoping it is due to maintenance on their system over the weekend causing in correct statuses.
Lets see if the statuses return to normal tomorrow (or maybe Tuesday? its a holiday Monday in US isn't it?)

You have two options:

1. Open it now and make sure it's working properly while connected to whatever display you have available.
2. Call Apple right now and ask them to extend your 2-week return window to begin when your Display arrives.

Also, I don't think there will be a new Mac Studio coming in the next 2 months :)

There may be a Mac Pro announced but that might also takes several months to ship if they even release it before fall.

Still no movement (not even a charge or status change) after three days. I hope it ships next week and not have a dreaded 2 month delay.

That said, Nano Texture, tilt adjustments seems to becoming available for pickup readily in multiple DC locations. For me, tilt only is not good enough, the wait continues, but hopefully not any longer.

This morning I noticed my order moved back to 'order placed, shipping date April 13 to 20'. I checked again 20 minutes ago and it's back on 'prepared for shipment, delivers Jun 6 - Jun 13'. What's going on with the ordering system?

It's been an odd day for the Apple store app. This morning my order, which includes four items, all delivered except for the ASD, displayed all four items as "processing" again! Very weird, but a few minutes ago, all items were back to the status they'd been yesterday.

Yes - same here (reverted back to ‘order placed’ with original ETA dates).

Back to normal now though, thankfully

I messed up the reply formatting.

Is UPS the default shipping carrier for the Apple Studio Display?

I would appear so.
All the Mac Studio's seem to have been delivered by UPS also.
I know for iPhone releases in the past they've been delivered by various local couriers, but maybe that's just because of the amount of first-day orders that iPhones generate. Or it is more cost-effective for the smaller parcels maybe?

Apple stuff usually comes with UPS here (Sweden) - I don't like UPS though.

When they delivered my MacStudio to my home automatically they just handed it over after I let them in to the port. No signing, sloppy types.

Now when I definitely want my Studio Display by home delivery, it was by default choose to be delivered to a place not that close to me. So I had to make a 'change of address', and it will probably be delayed
