I have 3 ASD in tandem with an XDR and all are perfectly silent.
I believe the Apple Store can do it but it is $$$. I also went down the VESA path on one of mine and regretted it.I have a Studio Display with a VESA mount and a VESA arm. I kind of regret going down the VESA route. Is it possible to switch to the the Tilt and Height adjustable stand? Otherwise, are there any good VESA stands (not arms) that basically do the same thing that would be a good fit for the Studio Display?
How much did they quote you at the Apple Store?I believe the Apple Store can do it but it is $$$. I also went down the VESA path on one of mine and regretted it.
I ended up using this stand. It's very basic but it is STURDY. I bought it because all the arms I tried wobbled. This doesn't.

Never bothered to ask. I've heard it's $300 or $400.How much did they quote you at the Apple Store?
I looked into swapping out the tilt-adjustable stand on one of my Studio Displays for a tilt- and height-adjustable stand. If I remember correctly, the cost was whatever the difference in the price of the displays (so about $400) plus the cost of labor. I think the whole thing was going to be about $500 or $600.How much did they quote you at the Apple Store?
Were the VESA arms that wobbled similar (price wise) to the Ergontron LX or Ollin arms?I ended up using this stand. It's very basic but it is STURDY. I bought it because all the arms I tried wobbled. This doesn't.
I wouldn't blame the arms - my desk is just wobbly. I think most arms would have been issues. Were the VESA arms that wobbled similar (price wise) to the Ergontron LX or Ollin arms?
I'm just trying to ascertain if paying more perhaps negates the wobble issues.
It is what Apple supplies in the box.Maybe that's what Apple supplies 'in the box'. Maybe not...?
The USB-C ports on the back of the Studio Display are not full speed I don't think. Pretty sure they're USB 3 but not USB 3.2gen2 or whatever the current fastest spec is. And they're definitely not Thunderbolt. So for really fast SSDs, connecting directly to the Mac (or connecting to a TB4 hub in line before the display) will be faster. It was the encryption. It seems it does make a huge difference when connected to the display. When connected to the MacBook directly there is no performance difference

The only things connected to my Studio Displays are slow devices like keyboards and mouse dongles. Oh, and an old Apple DVD-R superdrive which gets very occasional use.
So the Studio Display is 18/19 months old now and my first impressions have only been reinforced over time and mores with every non-Apple display I use.
The "just works" tag definitely applies. No issues with resolutions; reliability or speed to wake from sleep; speakers are good; camera is good enough for video conferencing; brightness is really good; crispness of fonts is great; build quality is very good. Honestly, compare it to any other monitor and you can feel where your money has gone.
As someone who is on a lot of meetings every day, the built-in speakers and webcam are a big positive. Especially when I like a nice clean desk layout or am working somewhere with limited space.
My overriding wish for the product is also still the same as day one - I wish they'd make it available in an array of sizes. 27"... 32" and an ultrawide. And please add a second input!
Some will want/need an HDR-capable panel and they could put a 4K camera in there, but whenever I have to use non-Apple monitors, the only thing I find myself consistently criticising is the 27" limit on the ASD.

Agreed on all points. I just wish there was a 32" ASD. I love mine.So the Studio Display is 18/19 months old now and my first impressions have only been reinforced over time and mores with every non-Apple display I use.

AppleCare help or no? That’s scary honestly.Anyone else's Studio display brick itself after your laptop to Sonoma? I was going through other forums and it's happened on other updates to Ventura but just wondered if anyone has experienced this after any OS update and how did you fix it?
I've not had the issue but I seem to remember someone on here saying they had to take it in to an Apple Store to get it fixed.Anyone else's Studio display brick itself after your laptop to Sonoma?
