I'd rather have it just built into Safari instead of a plug in or yet another app.
I feel that flash would be largely useless if it isn't integrated into Safari. I think the way Apple will go with this is to add a Flash toggle to Settings > Safari like the Plug-Ins toggle. That way you can have it on when you want and off when you don't.the issue there is that i want it as an opt-in. i don't care to have flash banners or videos loading. at least with a stand alone app, it can save my battery and resources (why flash sucks on the desktop).

In other news, the iPhone's battery life is now reported to be 30 minutes! Should be interesting.
There have been a few times when I've been out and needed to go to a site that was Flash based. Needless to say I couldn't get the info I needed at the time. I definitely don't want Flash enabled all the time but a toggle would be nice for those times when I need it.I see that no one can give a good example as to why the iPhone should support Flash. All I see is "FINALLY!"... Finally what? What will this enable you to do when you get flash? How would this benefit you in a way that a native app can't?
All you people moaning about Flash ads, please give some examples of sites you are going to that are so intolerable? I went to 3 sites at random (gamespot, cnn and national enquirer!) and found the ads to be quite sedate in all cases. In fact, the most in-your-face ad I've seen was on Mac Rumors.
I'll grant you that there was a period of incredibly annoying flying Flash ads, but that was like 5 years ago, and you can blame AJAX for those as much as Flash because AJAX enabled the layered DIVs that made them possible. Anyway, people aren't doing those anymore, except maybe on the porn sites you like to visit.
Ads are, by definition, obnoxious. That's the price you pay for the free content. Get over it. Frankly, I find search ads -- those interspersed among legit search results -- to be much more annoying than Flash banners. And I'm going to be happy to finally have Flash on the iPhone so I can access more videos, games and RIAs.

Yay! Copy paste! Oh wait...
I will say this once, and I will say it again....
Does anyone remember how crappy Flash runs on a Mac? How would it run on an iPhone?!
i'll take the "iPhone flash player" over "copy & paste" any day![]()
Hello. It looks like you're trying to copy something. Would you like me to move it to the clipboard for you? (Y/N)It's all about clippy my friend.![]()
