OP is messing with nobody. Do you really compare exchange news from Bloomberg with Google finance? Good luck. It will be on Google maybe tomorrow.

Considering Google News crawls the internet looking for articles and posts links, the fact that Google News hasn't found even a tidbit of information shows zero reliability. In fact, all we have is your word that Apple wants to buy Adobe.

Adobe has no reason to be bought out, and I hope they don't. Apple should stick to doing what it does best. Hardware and Mac OS X.

None. If this is really news and discussion-worthy, then it must be elsewhere too, for free.

Look, as I've said - it is a rumor and it has appeared on professional exchange applications like Bloomberg or Reuters. Subscription based apps fro professional traders. If the RUMOR has any strength, it WILL appear on all those free financial pages like Yahoo or Google.

I've copied the actual message from Briefing in one of my previous posts. I cannot provide a link as it will require appropriate login info...

They're talking more about the whole flash media server which can handle iOS clients. Probably the most sensationalist tweet ever lol.

So the whole basis of this thread is what amounts to basically a big Internet chat room ?

Riiiiiiiiiiight....

Hey guys, in other news, I heard that Apple was going to join the OHA. I have proof right here :

Oh, and if I am not mistaken, this forum is called macRUMORS. I've seen threads here based on much less than what I've provided and yet I was fair enough to put question mark there and mentioned, that this is just a rumor at the moment.

I put the question mark there when I re-opened this thread. The original version you posted didn't have the question mark, which made it sound like this has already been officially confirmed (and this was the main part of the problem too).

Even at rumor level, this is pretty far-fetched because this is based on some stock figures. Nothing indicates that Apple would be the buyer either.

Oh, OK, thanks then. I've mentioned a rumor from the beginning as it is far from being confirmed.
On the other side, the rumors on the exchange floors always come first. And it is actually not that far-fetched based on my opinion. Apple is sitting on incredible amount of cash. There is not much they can do with it in todays low interest rates environment. Building a new campus, data center or introducing a couple of new products will not help them. Therefore they have to look around. Buying Facebook is out of question right now and Adobe would be financially logical target.
We have yet to see what will come out of this.

Interesting rumor.

I can imagine Apple "simplifying" Photoshop and all other Adobe pro apps to make them more iOS-like. Goodbye pro market...

At least they won't run like ass on Macs and will be native. That alone would be a breath of fresh air.

Buying another company isn't as simple as going to a supermarket though. The possibility that Apple would get into antitrust issues would be huge IMO. Consider the monopoly Apple would have if they bought Adobe, they would pretty much own the productivity (especially consumer level) market. Apple doesn't offer any real software (iTunes doesn't count) for Windows, so the likelihood of Adobe software becoming Mac-only is quite big. And that is something that nobody should want as Apple could charge whatever they want.

Both parties need to accept the deal too. There isn't any concrete price like there is when you go to a supermarket, it must be negotiated. Adobe's leaders could decline all deals if they don't want Adobe to become a part of Apple.

Personally, I don't see Apple buying Adobe. What would be the gain?
