If I'm watching ABC news, a Journalist is reporting. He has his sources, his history, his background. He has a name. ABC news is the organization, the Journalist is the reporter.

No, you've identified the organisation, you have yet to name the "Journalist" or "reporter".

From an organisation, reported by a person. Daringfireball is the blog site, Jon Gruber is the reporter, no matter if the source is anonymous. Jon has a history, we know his predictions and sources are usually pretty good about Apple and his sources, though anonymous, have given him inside info before.

Again, in your case, all we have is an organisation and no reporter whatsoever. My question is who is the reporter. You keep dodging it. Why ?

You are right on this one. All we have is an Organization (Bloomberg, Briefing). They have their sources, history and background. We do not know who is the Journalist.
Nevertheless this Organization is providing this kind of financial news feed for traders for years. They have their credibility, the news feed is their business. They will not put their name in jeopardy as they will loose business if they do so. Therefore they have identified that information as a rumor. They have also identified its source - exchange floor talk. It is up to each of us to decide, if that kind of rumor from that kind of source with that kind of circumstances has anything to it.
I do not keep dodging, I just do not understand what you want me to do? Should I call Tim or Steve to confirm that rumor? Well, confirmed rumor would no longer be rumor, it became a fact.
I've gave you all I had and it is up to you how you take it. You may not consider Bloomberg or Briefing a reliable source - OK!
I really do not understand what is this discussion about anymore.

He’s just being argumentative as always. I wouldn’t waste anymore time trying to convince him. He evidently has no understanding of the workings of a company like Bloomberg and it’s merit to traders and investors and thus cannot assign the appropriate amount of value behind your post.

Traders usually do not take any action based on this kind of rumor, however it gives them heads up to investigate further and watch what will happen. That is the only purpose of that kind of information shown on a financial news feed.
Very often rumors based on exchange floor talks leads to something. So that all we have to do based on that rumor is to watch what will happen.

Yeah, I've realized that. Thank you.
