Yey mines near my house. Does anyone know if we can go and collect them today? Anyone rang TNT or done it before?

Pick up at depot

I often pick up stuff from DHL depot near my house. Just go with apple info and some ID

Well, to (sort of) answer my own question - mine arrived at the Liverpool delivery depot at 7:49 according to the tracking site, when I called to ask to collect, the lady said it hadn't arrived yet.....

Can you do this before they have attempted delivery to your house?

Yes apparently so! I am away as from Monday for 2 weeks so I would have missed it otherwise. Am at the TNT depot as I write, waiting for the friendly guy to find my package. Will this make me the first person in the UK to get my hands on one?! ;)

Patience is a virtue!

Whilst I'm as excited and impatient as everyone else waiting for my new toy to arrive, it's really quite amusing reading all the hate for TNT and the couriers out there.

When you stop and think about the logistics involved, personally I think it's amazing that these products can get from the factory to our individual addresses in such a short space of time. There is also no extra charge for delivery.

And as for complaining that we are treated 2nd best to the USA home market, uh, what do you expect? The days of the British Empire are long over - we're just a small island with a small market ;)

Anyway, I'm off to check the progress of my old Apple TV on eBay and to start sorting out my AV cabinet...

I too just rang Liverpool TNT but to be told it hasnt arrived yet ! :(
Oh well, will be sat in the office all day Monday looking at every van that comes down the road!!! :D

Just collected mine from the Park Royal Depot

It took them ages to find it - they were looking for a much larger box lol!

It really is tiny and beautiful and black!

There is no Netflix option in the menu or settings that I can find. I hope that when Netflix is introduced in the UK later this year that this functionality will be added!

No update since arrival at Northampton last night - low expectations of it reaching Edinburgh depot today - still looks like Monday.

Agree with earlier post about some folk being quick to slag TNT - considering this package was in China 4 days ago it is small miracle (a) that it is close to delivery and (b) I have been able to follow the journey on my iPhone. Do try the Delivery Status touch app recommended by someone earlier - I am following this and other deliveries from Amazon all in one place.

Any of you lucky ******* that get your mitts on yours today let us all know and tell us your first impressions.

That awesome people are getting them today!! Shame mine hasn't got to my depot yet

I hope Netflix is introduced in the UK this year.

There haven't been any updates regarding a UK launch since that interview with their CEO in January and after the recent launch of Netflix in Canada it isn't looking that promising after he said "I don't think we could do a second country this year".

First Impressions - really easy to set up with Home Sharing. Don't need to pair the iPhone/iPad Remote app they just see it and can connect.

Much faster and smoother interface than the old Apple TV; no pausing and waiting for it to catch up like before.

Streaming of audio and video seems to work perfectly!

Anything anyone wants me to check out!?

What's the navigation like now you don't have My Movies, My TV Shows etc? Is it a pain to find your own content?

It's not really a pain, it's just a bit more hidden away under the Computers menu. Once you are in there it seems to stay 'logged on' though, so you don't need to keep re-selecting your computer to see your content, it will just stay there until you navigate right back out to the main menu again.

Current Delivery Status In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 01*Oct*2010

Does this mean it's on it's way to me now?

Edit: just realised the 1st was yesterday; guess it's coming on Monday then

Just backing up what's already been said really easy set up, streams perfectly from any home computers no jumping or anything. Love how easy it is to use as this is my first apple tv and it's soooo small :p

Hope you all get yours soon!

Got mine this morning from the TNT hub at Alton, now to figure out how to get some use out of it whille waiting for Airplay....

:)

Mine says 'out for delivery', however when I phoned TNT they said it definitely won't be delivered until Monday - and that a load of apple deliveries had been put on 'out for delivery' by mistake - with a route number that didn't exist.

So I've waited around all morning for something that's not turning up.

This is why I hate TNT...something like this happens every time I buy something from Apple! Certainly the last time I'll be buying something from Apple.com - always prefer in store!

At least I phoned and checked and didn't waste my whole Saturday...

Mine is also sitting at the Northampton Hub... over 200 miles away from me :(

Monday it is then, and if I miss that then I'll have to wait until my day off on Tuesday :(

TNT played a blinder

Big thumbs up for TNT, I rang up this morning to say I would be out until after midday (normal deliveries stop at 1200 on a Saturday), I was on the cusp of saying not to bother delivering until Monday when the receptionist offered to ring the driver and see when he would be in my area. Minutes later I got a phone call back to say that the driver would bring it around just after midday.

1230 and sure enough I am now the proud owner of a new gadget.

Well done TNT!
