Screen Saver - no Album Artwork

My old Apple TV displayed my album covers as the screen saver, it was kinda cool. Cant find a way to do it on the new one... I guess maybe as the music is not stored locally any more :( Anyone got any suggestions on a work around?

More or less happy with the new AppleTV I picked up this morning, though I have a couple of issues...

- Can't sign in to YouTube with my Google password.

- There's no TV section. No renting TV shows in the UK, it seems.

Steve.

Must have missed that. Wonder why?

It's all about signing deals with the content providers. Apple loves to keep it's future plans secret so it usually doesn't give them much time to get the studios and networks signed up when they come up with a new idea and the US market always takes priority.

They are having big trouble convincing the US TV networks that rentals are a good idea so I would imagine Apple are trying to negotiate solutions there before they turn to the UK.

Almost certain to happen from what I hear - now the BBC Trust has given the nod to an iPhone app. A killer app for the UK I'd say.

Yeah... I wrote a player for the iPad however never published it because the BBC's terms are too restrictive..I and my friends use it lots... Outputs to the TV as well..

If they allow developers to write apps for the apple TV I'm sure we'll get an iplayer app for it. I suspect that apple or the BBC will do it, but if not then I will :)

I'm sure I saw a post, earlier this week, on MacRumors or one of the other Apple Blogs, that the AppleTV had been updated to version 4.1

My AppleTV is currently running 4.0 and there are no updates available.

Did I imagine it?

Hmmm. Curious.

Although using the software update option didn't show any updates to be available, performing a Factory Reset did. It's downloading now and I'll report back later...

Steve.

Would AirPlay allow us to stream iPlayer to the :apple:TV or is iPlayer in the wrong format?

Steve.

Sorry, false alarm. Doing a Factory Restore DOES trigger the software to download, but after resetting it is still reported as 4.0...

Still think I read something about 4.1, though.

Steve.

Just picked up my AppleTV from the Horncastle depot. Going to set it up now - happy to answer any questions...

Steve.

Does the new :apple:TV show up in iTunes Devices and/or the iTunesPreferences panel? I struggled with my V1 TV the other week, lost it from iTunes completely, I had to set it up to stream before I could get it to sync.
I assume the new :apple:TV won't appear in Preferences panel as it's not syncing.

That is awesome!!!!

Yeah can't wait until Monday evening. I've got 4.2 on my iPad and iPhone so I'm looking to try airplay to the ATV

Got mine today as I picked it up from the depot.

What are people's initial impressions? Cool piece a kit and like the movies and photo options but having no TV episodes is a bit of a bummer. It desperately needs a APP store and iPlayer. Without these I really cant see me using it too often which is a shame.

Edit: also a bit jarred by the fact us brits are charged so much more for content:( someone needs to tell apple the exchange rate isnt 1:1.
